Rock salt to keep from getting an emultion?

I swear I remember reading somewere that you can use rock salt in your STB to keep it from forming an emultion. If I remember right it works by affecting the salineity of the base water. Anyone else know if this is correct or may have done it before?

I have definitely read that in a few places online (just don't use table salt). You can also put more lye in the mix if it is not separating.

If your lye to water ratio is right, emulsions will not form. With STB you can not have too much lye. SWIM has shook jars with naptha and spice to intentionally form an emulsion and it cleared in 5-10 mins(about the same as end over end rolling).


I see no point in adding anything but more lye.
