yes effective but there's a few 'its and bits' that one only realizes when doing it..  Like for example, the side of the glass will be full of the basified mix, and as soon as you pull out the glass, some will be dropping. So one gotta think of where he/she is doing this work. SWIM did it on top of a stainless steel table/sink, where he could just wet and clean the table/sink easily. If the table was some other sensitive material it might have stained

Also, even though the naphtha layer stays on top of the glass and any basified mix will go to the bottom, still little dropplets of the basified mix may be 'stuck' to the inside side of the glass on the top of the naphtha part.     To get it away, what SWIM does is, he doesnt fill the whole glass up when submerging it in the mix. He fills up till, lets say, two thirds..

Then he turns on the water in the sink just a little bit so that it is not just dropping, but a bit more water so that its a continuous thin strip.  So anyways as soon as he pulls the glass out of the big container, he uses this thin line of water from the sink to clean the outside of the glass first (and since you have to 'tilt' the glass a little bit for the water to flow through the outside of the glass to clean it, then its good that it was not filled up to the top or once you tilt it, you might spill some of the solvent inside the glass)

Then, after cleaning the outside of the glass, SWIM also quickly passes the glass just a tiny bit tilted under the water, so that this thin line of water falls inside the glass, but running through the sides.. In this way, it will go to the bottom of the glass, taking with it any remains of the basified mix that might be on the inner sides of the glass.  Have to be careful in this part because you will be filling up the glass, so if it was too full to begin with you will spill solvent.  Thats why being half full or bit more to begin with helps, because then it can fill up quite a bit with this water without risking spilling.

I tried to describe but only practice shows the little tricky bits..  Make a test run with just a bit of naphtha in the glass to begin with..

and yes be very very careful about not having little holes in the gloves!
