I'm not sure if this is the right area for this or not; if it's not I apologize.

SWIM is looking to extract safrole from sassafras. SWIM needs aprox 160 grams of it or more. SWIM was wondering what a viable source for this extraction would be. (I believe that sassafras oils sold online do not contain safrole, as the DEA has put it on a watchlist due to its use as a precursor for MDMA synthesis.) Would you recommend that SWIM grows his own sas, or are there viable and safe vendors of sas oil containing safrole? (SWIM is aware that discussing vendors specifically is against the rules. He doesn't need a name, just a yes or a no--he can use Google to find specific vendors).
Or, would you recommend SWIM take another route entirely for obtaining safrole? He's heard that it can be extracted from nutmeg, though that route does not seem as well established.

SWIM is aware of the risks associated with safrole. SWIM is aware of the cost, time, experience, and patience needed for the intended procedure. Please do not waste your time explaining the risks.
Any help from those who are familiar with this process would be greatly appreciated, starting with the acquisition of safrole.
Yes, SWIM does have prior experience with basic spice extractions--this is a big step, but he is taking it very seriously.

Well if neither is acceptable to talk about here, I'd rather not. But SWIM needs it for what you're probably assuming he needs it for.
But yeah, if it's not cool to talk about than I apologize for bringing it up.
Is there a sub-forum appropriate for my question (I haven't been promoted so I can only post in general sections), or is the subject discouraged from being discussed at all on the nexus?

as you can read in our attitude page we do not discuss synthesis here, due to the use of watched and dangerous chems and proceedures that would attract even further attention from the law, be potentially dangerous for those with only basic ´kitchen-chem-knowledge´ here, and be a potential liability for the commmunity as a whole and specially for the administrator too. Also the fact that such synthesis are often mixed with ´for-profit´ motivation that does not match our own objectives here, we rather avoid such talk. Hope you understand it :)
