I planted seeds of San Pedro, Peruvian torch and tershekii about 2 months ago. I had acualy thought they died and forgot about them, but kept them just in case. I checked them out today and noticed that some were alive the whole time. Unfortunately I didn't label them.

That's going to be my next project, Lophophora.

I know what you mean, I spend a lot of time with my plants as well. My neighbors probably think I'm crazy, walking around in circles multiple times a day looking at the plants.

HAHAHAHAHA, exactly!

BundleFlowerPower, for future reference, it's very easy to start cacti seeds in coarse-grain sand in petri dishes inside of ziplock baggies.

Coarse-grain sand can be found as:
1) pool-filter sand
2) typing "coarse sand succulents" into amazon
3) local soil suppliers as "large" or "coarse" sandd

Amazing!! That's exactly what I do also. I'm so glad my neighbors cannot see me doing this!:)

I do the same thing with my mushrooms hehe. Fortunately, no neighbors can see.

Well at least my neighbor keeps chickens, so since this is in a nice suburban area, I probably don't seem like the craziest person on the block.

One of my favorite activities also ;)

i want to mention... i have attempted cacti several times, but i lack patience or something.
They usually sprout easily, and grow easily, but they'd always end up getting washed away,
which happened again this season, but i have some more seeds, and a modified growing plan.
i will try growing them 'terrarium style' a couple of years, or until they are big enough to survive.
