Seekers, what do you seek?

Migrated topic.
Im not seeking a specific static end-state or message.

"You cant step into the same river twice"

Every time its like a dive into the fractal waters of The Source, that reflect myself and the world from many different angles and allow me to learn a bit more about reality and try to use that to be a better person, appreciate being alive, be astounded by the Mistery, as well as have fun :)

dont have a goal..these things are state-specific..one goal for me wouldnt be congruent with all the various states of mind. I guess maybe my goal would be to be better able to adapt, since I am adding more programs/mindbody states to my nervous system that I can then learn to use and reference.

"White Light from the Mouth of Infinity" :)

I should reflect upon this more because I dont have a good answer yet, except obviously curiosity about our mind and our universe. everything. It's a need to go deeper. Explore. It's not anything clear yet. My body likes girls and my mind is curious. It's a philosophycal need. I dont want anything in particular.

Oh and the visual aspects of such experiences are a good part of what drives me to them too. I'm into "art" and dreams also for the same reasons.

I have quite a few reasons and goals as far as psychedelics go.

First and foremost as I've stated on previous posts, I feel my life path is that of a shaman. So I definitely feel a strong desire to connect with the plant spirits to tap into the healing potential there.

The second main reason is so I can learn my full potential. I believe that your beliefs are the only thing holding us back in a lot of ways. I want to learn how to tap into the natural laws of abundance so I can create a reality I can be proud of and share with those who are willing to learn.

I know that it's probably a limiting belief on my part, but I can't help but to feel exponentially smarter when I'm under the influence of psychedelics. I want to get to the point where I don't need any extra substances to reach those states of mind. I feel that with the right intention, you can use these substances to close the gap between your consciousness and the infinite consciousness.

I want to share these substances with anyone willing to give them a chance, respectfully.

I feel that psychedelics have increased my awareness and my quality of life. This is getting a little off topic, but I'm so grateful to have found this community to learn, share and grow. That's something else these substances have given me. I HUGE appreciation for EVERYTHING except money, it's effects on society, Earth and it's way of imprisoning the human species. I know that the world would be a MUCH better place if we adopted a Resource Based Economy like The Venus Project Home proposes.

So I guess I am seeking a way to help. Help the Earth, help my brothers and sisters and help myself and the Universe.

There is no higher purpose than service to others. To work for the common good is the greatest creed.

What I was looking for:

1> A new perspective on old problems
2> The Thing That Is Just Over The Horizon
3> A new start

Did I find it?

1> Yes
2> Never/Always
3> Every day, but found out I didn't need psychedelics for this

I wouldn't have called myself a seeker when I ate some of those very special Oregonian mushrooms at the Harvest Fest three or four years back. I was looking to have a good time with a friend, thought it was "just getting high"...but I ended up on my back in a grassy field thanking the Earth as we flew together around the Sun.

Now that I'd say I'm on "a path" (though I don't think I ever left it), the old Sufi metaphor of "moths around a flame in a dark world" applies for me. I'll always be seeking toward that light, trying to bring it out, wherever it may hide.

I take psychedelics when I want my intuitions confirmed.

What I mean is, get some perspective, realise the beauty of the moment and simple things, the importance of friendship, dancing, love.. sometimes these realisations need to be experienced rather than just intellectualised to make sense, especially when I've had some time stuck in consensus reality.

I get the same from yoga/meditation/spending some time in stressfree situations too.

I don't really feel like psychedelics have or could give me more than that in the near future. Sure, they could give me some deeper answers etc, but I'm not ready to commit to what would be a very intense path in order to get enough experience of these to be able to make sense of it.

So at the moment at least I am using them as a tool to learn about this reality.

Although most of the things I've experienced on DMT aren't fully integrated and 'transferred' yet ;)

It's interesting. I think it is interesting to see what changes in biochemistry does to consciousness, and the peculiar experiences and states of mind that the alteration brings. The experiences psychedelics gives are unique, the experience from the different drugs are unique, and even though you take the same drug in the same dosage it is still unique. Furthermore it is not only interesting, but potentially beneficial to get into radically different states of consciousness. So as a student of science, and an explorer of the peculiarities of the mind, I find myself drawn to seek out these experiences again and again.

did you know that you have an almost infinite amount of neurons in your brain? billions and trillions of the little guys....and here's the most intriguing part- neuroscientists have begun to discover that EACH INDIVIDUAL NEURON is associated with a thing. an experience. an object. a person.

that's right folks...you have a brittany spears neuron inside your cranium. you also have a bacon neuron. and a frisbee neuron...etc... now, if you took the sum total of all that you 'know', it is still a LOT less than the total number of neurons in your brain. are these non-associated neurons just blanks waiting to be imprinted on?

or....

do we have the entire collective consciousness already within us simply waiting to be 'awakened'?

every time i go into hyperspace, i am presented with a billion things i've never seen before, thought before, felt before....one by one...billions upon billions of neurons in my mind are awakened with each journey. my mind and the vast, infinite universe become less and less two separate things. the flowing of all things is that much less obstructed.

my mind is expanded that much more...and the growth never retracts. once gained, it is like a light switch flipped on and left on. the collective light serves only to expose that much more dark unknown territory deeper within and i'm alright with that. i know that there will always be a perfect balance of the two.....i simply surrender to the infinite expansion of both.

i guess at the end of the day, if life is simply a game we play to learn lessons and awaken to our own true divinity, i would rather play it on a huge, open sunny field than in a tiny, dark closet.

hmmm, source? From what I learned, thats not at all how the brain works. The nervous system is composed of an interconected network of neurons, and different "things" or experiences are not located in individual neurons but rather spread out in functional areas throughout the brain. So for example, lets say you know britney spears.... When something reminds you of her, its not one neuron that fires up but rather for example certain related parts of the visual cortex might be activated as you think of her image, or the limbic system will connect your emotion to her, or broca and wernicke's area will be activated when you are speaking and listening to her, or another area might be related to your memory of her smell, etc etc. The whole 'only 10% of your brain is active' is also just a myth, if you were trying to get to that...

That being said, I agree that the brain working and consciousness is still in part a mistery and that the 'dark inner territory' of consciousness and life is still very much unknown.. I also agree with life being in a way a game and we are trying to learn lessons and awaken, or become more conscious, more developed. And put me in the open sunny field (or the deep forest) instead of the dark closet too :)

so then, perhaps it is more like an intricate mathematical pattern that is formed for each 'thing'. a connection of neurons, synapses and varying parts of different parts of the brain. the combinations, then, truly ARE limitless! between the trillions of neurons, the billions of synapses and the billions of individual sites within the brain for the combination to take and send it's processed information...

maybe this is inter-related to sacred geometry? to music? it's all mathematical.....differing combinations that open infinite doors to infinite worlds. each experience replete with it's own backstory, emotions, flavors and potentials...

in the end, it still boils down to ever expanding the scope of one's experience.

...and to experience the scope of one's expansion... ;)

L&G!!

yeah I've pondered a lot about the 'geometry of consciousness', but I could never get the idea more developed than a few philosophical ramblings during or post-trips :D

would be so wonderful to have a consistent reliable theory for the mind that incorporated all these realms we are so interested about.

Lets cut to the chase
I just want to drive that star ship man. All that gobbley gook talk is just a cover.
:)

Endlessness, for higher concepts, that appears correct, but we have evidence for this weird little thing referred to as a 'grandmother cell.' Each of which seems to respond to a single concept/person.
