Seekers, what do you seek?

Migrated topic.
Drive the star ship! Indeed!

But I would also say that for me I seek to dishabituate. Here is an analogy of what I mean: frogs' visual systems only see movement. Their eyes do not exhibit microsaccades so that their retinal cells quickly habituate to what they see. It is only when something moves, resulting in changes on their retina, that they actually see. (e.g., http://smc.neuralcorrelate.com/files/publications/martinez-conde_encyclopedia_of_perception_2009.pdf)

Psychedelics make things 'move' for me to see :)

(And, as an aside (as someone who works in this field), I simply have to say that there are serious problems with the 'grandmother cell theory,' one being that there is simply no good way to measure the specificity of the firing rate of one single neuron; another being that all a neuron 'does' is increase or decrease its relative firing rate).

perhaps it is more like an intricate mathematical pattern that is formed for each 'thing'. a connection of neurons, synapses and varying parts of different parts of the brain. the combinations, then, truly ARE limitless! between the trillions of neurons, the billions of synapses and the billions of individual sites within the brain for the combination to take and send it's processed information...

maybe this is inter-related to sacred geometry? to music? it's all mathematical.....differing combinations that open infinite doors to infinite worlds. each experience replete with it's own backstory, emotions, flavors and potentials...

yeah and there is a (still infinite) subset of those combinations that are actually possible. next question: what makes these possible and others not? what is it in a combination which provides it with the capability of life/manifestation and why are the rest all dead (unmanifestable)? perhaps here is where higher order information - the scaffolding that provides structure for the mind - comes into the picture... where matter and Mind meet each other.

I think with spiritual practice we somehow learn to take paths, realize combinations which we (our brains) turned back from earlier. I mean enlightenment is only an inch (or a neuron) away, if only we (our brain) could take that path and ignite the chain reaction. but some deeply imprinted habit stops us at these junctions and makes us turn back to the well-known patterns. "free your mind" may refer to letting the brain take these opportunities and thereby set it all on fire.

I seek to gain knowledge and self awareness through journeying with entheogens and to cultivate compassion and pure positivity.

Much Peace and Awareness

i guess at the end of the day, if life is simply a game we play to learn lessons and awaken to our own true divinity, i would rather play it on a huge, open sunny field than in a tiny, dark closet.

L&G!!

Umm.....without a doubt....I'm going to use that...like for the rest of my life! But then only the most dear to me and open minded will know the source of the quote, and I'll tell them of the most incredible West Coast Brother I have met who is in fact -in himself- an open sunny field, and I hope he always stays that way!

I first sought healing. I got a clean slate and a second shot at life.

Somewhere in this process of deconstructing myself, however, I realized a vast gap (experiencing things like spontaneous headstands that I have never been capable of doing before DMT) in what is possible, vs. what I had assumed or believed was possible. Now, I am in the process of exploring What Is Possible.

In the process of exploring what is possible, I have noticed a sharp increase in my ability to learn, language, instruments, etc., old hobbies I quit earlier in life because I felt my mind had become too dull to handle them anymore. I experience a strong connection between sharpness and suppleness of mind, and journeying. I feel journeying, between increased learning, clarity, and the healing, is integral to maintaining good mental health.

I want to be able and die able in body, mind, and spirit. Psychedelics seem to keep me there.

... what drives you to take psychedelics....

meaning of life :)

or at least fascination and love...
this is what drives me
again and again

without psychedelics, my life would be (more) shallow, less meaningfull, less balanced

psychedelics provide me what i cant find in religion
and they amplify what i do find in philosophy

I have an insatiable curiosity to explore the endless and majestic secrets of my mind, body and enviroment.
psychedelics allow me to harvest a deeper connection with my world and those who share it.:d

I want to become a Shaman, someone who is not only aware of the Spirit World, but also can connect to it at will. Right now I can only connect trough JimJam, but I hope in the future to master this skill completely. So I could connect to the Spirit World/Alter my state of Consciousness at any given moment, without the need to take drugs :p

I seek to ask the correct questions ... so far every answer I got consists of ten more questions.

I've heard people say it just gets weirder and weirder, I am beginning to know what they mean!!!

dmt can not create any change, only bring it out. Im seeking my hidden struggles, the things that bother my true self so i can tackle them in real life and create a more blissful life. Im also seeking another ego loss and finding myself as things have surely added on since my last ego loss.

Im also seeking my struggles with letting go and not being stubborn, along with doing things for the sake of life, not manipulating it and trying to receive a certain thing.

Another thing i want to find is some personal spirituality, I am an Atheist yet i do believe in life and energy and connectedness. I just need to feel this presence within me
