Sensation of chunks of metal in the mouth while on DMT?

Hi everybody, I'm curious about something weird that happened to me on a few DMT-smoking occasions. When I took the first hit, the whole inside of my mouth started tingling like crazy. As I progressed to a breakthrough, this feeling changed into metal pieces in my mouth! I'm not talking about a metallic taste or feeling, but really like my whole mouth was full of chunks of metal! I must say it didn't happen to me in a while, it was more something typical of the first strong DMT trips I had. Wouldn't even say it was extremely unpleasant, just really weird so i was wondering if anybody else had similar experiences. Once I had an encounter with an isect-like being during one of my trips, that put his metal antennae in my mouth. (not cool!) The metal sensation was similar in a way, but still I'm not sure if the metal chunks have anything to do with the entities. Would be nice to hear what you think!

I once had a trip where when I blew the smoke out, I felt like I had something in my mouth. Throat to be more exact. Like I had swallowed something large, kind of how you would imagine feeling if you had gotten an egg stuck down your throat like in the movie Alien or something. I thought it might have been left over solvents in the spice maybe.
Psychedelics in general elicit extremely strange body sensations though, so I wouldn't put it past DMT to put an odd feeling/taste in your mouth, though it sounds like your prior trip probably has something to do with it.

Ive had similar feelings when I used my "meth pipe", this was due to burning the spice though, ive also had some funky feelings coming out of my mouth when smoking pau d'arco enhanced leaf, a feeling of spitting wood out my mouth. This has never hapened to me using the GVG.

It could possibly have something to do with the method of vaping, maybe you are burning/toasting it?

My entire face turned into copper once. I was recording at the time. I was experimenting with dmt singing. At one point during the recording I say "Oh. I'm made out of copper." Pretty strange.

Does this always happen when you smoke that batch of dmt?

It seems likely that its just due to harsh smoke from burning the spice, and the sensation was probably amplified a lot by tripping. What smoking method are you using?

Haha sounds like an interesting batch! What herbs did you use? I smoke my DMT from a small glass pipe, with one of those utility torches to vape the spice from above, works great. It seems likely that it was an amplified sensation, but it was so weird... really realistically the feeling that you have your mouth full of metal rocks. Somehow DMT seems interested in the human mouth... probing it, filling it with metal and weird sensations, putting energy into it or letting it flow out. Maybe it had to do with that batch, no way to tell anymore because it's since long finished. It was the first batch I made however, so maybe that has something to do with it.

SWiM has this often as well... it is discussed on the Nexus and has been called the "throat marble". She does not believe it is caused by residual solvent. She finds it disconcerting and it can make her anxious as she enters DMT space. Any suggestions to pacify this feeling? She uses a Machine to vape, and realizes she may be burning a bit as well.

I must concur with the "change the smoking method" recommendation. If one can afford a GVG, thats really the best way IMO.

Does burning the spice give one the throat tightening specifically, or is it just generally the combination of FAST onset, blood pressure spike, and the "shock", if you will...? SWIM has read of super smooth, even gentle hits, but it seems some disconcerting physical sensation related to breathing is quite common...
She has not broken through and has been content to explore the lesser glow and geometry of the gate from this side...
Perhaps it is even the intimation of an O.B.E. that causes this shock of sorts...?

Yea I get this a lot, usually when I take to big a hit and hold the smoke in my mouth because my lungs are to full...

This has happened to me a few times. I think it's either a really weird hallucination or a sensation from the actual smoke/vapor.

I have had a similar experience. When I breakthrough, "the dude" (that's what I call this elf) in hyperspace plays tricks with my taste and vision. He would show an pattern made out of what looks like colored crystals and make them sparkle. I would see the flashes, but would also "taste" what I was seeing. Not really taste but a tingling sensation with each sequence. As a result, I would find myself making weird noises like ummmm ahhhh bbzzzz to make the patterns change. Not sure why he likes to play that game but it is quite amusing.

swim has felt the same thing. he says it feels like metal pipe screens that have been cut up lol. im no scientist but could it be dmt recrystallizing on your tongue

ok, so I'm new to the DMT experience I must admit..... But both times I've smoked so far have involved my mouth filling with things.... strange things.... very real feeling things.... i call them gifts from the little people.... and have been encouraged to swallow them..... no way is this mucus, or a bad reaction to the smoke..... it is an integral part of the experience..... and up there with the most outstanding effects offered.... read more @ my post Something in my mouth (cosmic food) Part 1..... I use to have that metal chunks and hairlike threads sensation in my mouth. Saliva became wierd and full of some wierd crystal chunks. It felt that way. It was when i smoked from machine made of oval bulb with choir boy mash on the one end and straw stuck in on the other side. It was temporary device that scared me stiff pretty soon. The spice was often just destroyed so administration was like 50% of dosage melted and rest was waste. If 50% at all!?
It tasted terrible and was so harsh on the lungs and throat.
It never happened with GVG :thumb_up: It really is as everyone here preaches best tool for administration, amongst couple others that i personally don´t have experience with

Strange things can occur sometimes learning to operate tools loaded with goodnes

Its not nice feeling having wierd stuff sensation in mouth while travelling

wonder if DMT has local affects in that cells in the mouth and airway trip out..also folk feeling metal could be their fillings maybe.

I've had a kind of similar experience on non break throughs. It's like I have blocks or cubes at the bottom of my throat and it actually feels like I'm coughing up Lego blocks or something. It's happened twice. Both times with relatively old spice that was sitting in a closet for 6 months.
