Must I use glass to siphon naphtha out or can I use a plastic baster?

You would need to find out what kind of plastic your baster is and check its compatibility with naphtha.

You should try to invest in either a glass baster or glass pipettes. Some say the solvents tend to cause plasticizers to leach from the plastic, I'm sure a one time use won't hurt much though. Just my opinion
