Small Scale Marsofold Tek Help Needed

hi, my question or well request goes out to those of you who know enough about chemistry and/or the mars tek, to be able to help me out. this tek requires a starting quantity of 1lb mhrb. and thats a bit much for someone who is new and experimenting. so Im wondering if anyone could post a revised copy of that tek for extraction from 50-100g as opposed to approx 453g to start. also, please dont respond by simply saying to cut everything by 3/4ths or some generic response, chemicals are dangerous and not to be taken lightly. thanks.

no, you wouldn't cut everything by 3/4. if you want to go from approx. 500g to 100g, you cut everything by 5, so 1/5 the amount. If you want to be more exact, get a calculator. sorry, to flame you, but I don't see the point of this question unless you are mathematically challanged. 8) -z

mathematically challenged would be closer to rounding 450g into 500g just to make things easier. and thats to go with a 100g, but if it was only 50g, that would be cutting everything down to 1/9th. my knowledge of chemistry isnt wide enough to know if some of the solutions, acids etc can just be cut like that and still have an equatable yeild. 😉

[quote:587ae43ab4="blue halo"]mathematically challenged would be closer to rounding 450g into 500g just to make things easier. 😉[/quote:587ae43ab4] Touché! :) ...but then, most Mathematicians must be mathematically challanged, since rounding to make quick approximations in their heads is a required skill (yes, I happen to be a mathematician). 😉 -z

[quote:7a55822915="zero"]this is an adaptation of the Mars Tek scaled down for 100g of MHRB by CondoPygmy[/quote:7a55822915] and thank you, not everyone has large quantities to experiment around with. [quote:7a55822915="zhah"]most Mathematicians must be mathematically challanged, since rounding to make quick approximations... (yes, I happen to be a mathematician). [/quote:7a55822915] some people just might not feel safe making quick approximations when handling acids and solvents. (my copy of windows came with a calculator, not an organic chemist).

Hi Halo, [quote:e8880ee959="blue halo"]some people just might not feel safe making quick approximations when handling acids and solvents. (my copy of windows came with a calculator, not an organic chemist).[/quote:e8880ee959] I definitely agree with a better-safe-than-sorry attitude and we're all here to help each other...I was just teasing you a little. Welcome to the Nexus! :) cheers, -z

thanks, a little help was all that was needed. this hole appeared to just be a forum. I was unaware, that other holes lay elsewhere scattered across the pretty face. it took a little digging, but then it paid off. nice things one can find in holes, if one knows where to look.
