Solvents for extraction

Migrated topic.

What solvents are people using for DMT extraction.
I've until now just used lighter fluid (petroleum distillates - naptha) and it works ok but I'd like to find the purest and best solvent.

How does these solvents work differently. Like toulene, hexane, heptane. petroleum ether and more. I can get my hands on all these as pure as possible but probably for a high price but I'm ready to spend some money on a very pure product.

So what should I be using?

swim doesnt like evaporating solvents so he always salts out and has great success with d-limonene + fasw for spice and xylene + dilute hcl for cactus.
swim has yet to try tolulene but has heard it smells alot nicer than xylene - is this true ?

toluene is more toxic then xylene. i actually dont recommend people who don't know how to work safely with solvents use it. tahts why i like that the limonene tek has been developed. if one can get limonene use it instead its not really toxic (although it can be don't drink it :p ).

also yea its nicer to salt out things if one wants to recycle solvents and avoid putting out fumes if its done in an open area.
