someone please clarify a step in LEXTEK..

i tried to post this earlier but it seems to have been lost..my apologies if it is still out there somewhere.
my question is - in the lextek extraction guide, between steps 5 and 6, (or possibly between steps 6 and 7), is the polluted shellite mentioned at the end of step 5 supposed to be removed? i copied the steps here so you can read what i'm talking about...

4. Initial Shellite Extraction:
Add an amount of Shellite to the above solution, shake, separate, and repeat.
The freebase DMT will dissolve into the Shellite, along with some unwanted plant gunk.

5. Defat Step 1: Acid Wash
Acidify water to pH 4 using acetic acid (vinegar) and add to the combined Shellite extractions.
This will convert the DMT freebase to the water-soluble salt, DMT Acetate.
The DMT Acetate will move from the Shellite to the water leaving behind the plant gunk.(<<-do i remove this?)

6. Defat Step 2: Basify
To the water + DMT Acetate solution, add an amount of Sodium Hydroxide.
This will again convert the DMT to its freebase form, which is soluble in Shellite.

7. Final Shellite Extraction:
Add an amount of Shellite to the above solution, shake, separate, and repeat.
The freebase DMT will dissolve into the Shellite. At this point no plant gunk remains.

Ditch the LEXTEK and use something else.

There is no need for a defat with MHRB.

yea, you remove the shellite in step 5. You just moved the dmt to the water. And the shellite is filled with a lot of color. Which is both plant oils and other stuff.

Shaolin, even if there's little plant-oil in MHRB there is still other stuff that gets removed with that step. I find that re-a/b gives more purity quicker. Same purity could be achieved with lots of re-crystallization but it's more work imo.

And please don't through away the shellite. Reuse it. You can distill it to get it clean again. Two bottles with a slang between them. one bottle sits in hot water and the other sits in cold water. Clean shellite will condensate into the cold bottle. It just takes time.
