south australian acacias

hi all, just looking for some help, new to the whole forum thing.
i live in rural South Australia, Australia.
i've bought and tried to raise some maidens wattle (acacia maidenii) seeds but they just wont grow. i've followed all instructions and common sense all i can put it down to is they arent real keen on south australias climate.
i would just like to know the name of a plant that will grow here with no hassles, something that is already proven to be growing here and will have a decent amount of DMT in it. I will purchase more seeds and fill my yard with them.
its just got me puzzled, i've been on many walks in rural areas and cannot find anything worth growing myself. and believe me, i have looked near and far.

any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

On page 38 of the 'improving acacia info' thread is a list compiled with the known active species.
Go on worldwidewattle in the SA section and cross reference with the list or go to your local library and use the list to narrpw it down.

What do you mean they just won't grow? Did you at least get them to germinate? I live in SA and our weather has been pretty turbulent and a little too cold to germinate... I've been using a hot water bottle and now have 5 acacia acuminata seedlings and 2 mimosa hostillis growing quite happily. Don't give up so easy...

wow seriously? i dont know why mine keep dying,,, what part of s.a? i had some mimosa from a friend on holiday, which is now gone, and i really dont wanna wait 5 years for something else. i know certain info cant be put up here, but if somebody can help me find a band-aid solution until i can atleast get some of my own in the ground, it would mean the world....

Acacia Burkitti which grows in south australia is a consistent and good yielding dmt source ... it is related to acacia acuminata

and in case your not bothered to do so just use phyllodes (leaves).. they are fine and good yield. trunk or rootbark often kills trees

Norwood, Adelaide. Try growing phalaris? It's very fast to grow

this is ridiculous, cant find anything to do an extract from. mums just been diagnosed with liver cancer, already beaten breast cancer. and my old man has blood cancer, I need to escape for a bit. even considering importing some mimosa n just risking it. I need the white hope.

The Mimosa Hostillis WILL NOT GET THROUGH. They may even rock up on your front doorstep and give you a warning or even fine you. Importing it is HIGHLY ILLEGAL.
It's hard enough these days getting perfectly legal seeds into the country, rootbark has no chance.

DMT is not the kind of drug you want to use to 'escape'. Infact, it may even highlight your weaknesses and fears during a trip which you seem to want to ignore.

I'll give you a little tip though, if you really want the DMT, go for a drive to somewhere in the bushlands and go for a walk. Take some photos, get some trees identified. Chances are you'll find an acacia with a reasonable alkaloid profile. Once you've found a tree (which is most likely everywhere), pry loose some bark or harvest some phyllodes being conscious to have a minimal impact on the livelihood of the plant. I only take bark from the older/dying trees. If you stumble across an acacia burkitti, then you're set! Use google and search it's distribution and plan accordingly.

I know this to be false from a number of sources who have ordered MHRB many times in Australia.
I know of one case who has gotten a letter from Customs, but I believe that was in regards to plant matter that requires treatment, rather than the importation of an illegal substance.
Yes, it is is illegal, and there is a risk, but I believe the risks should be accurately stated.

You say you live in rural SA, there's likely tons of Burkitti around you.

Hi there! Found something you may or may not have seen. You SHOULD be growing acacia just fine where you are.

Sub sub topic: These photos are labelled location Katanning, and OEA - you could find acumins along just about any road in Katanning growing like weeds.

I live near Adelaide, SA aswell and would really like to try dmt, I would rather not have to grow plants and extract it myself, i would be more than happy to pay someone to show me the best way to go about it, and i am willing to travel to you as far as about 2 hours from the cbd, cheers
