STB + defat with acacia acuminata?

I was wondering if one did a STB extract with acacia acuminata, but included a defat step prior to the introduction of shellite/Naphtha, would it work do you think?

With acacia phyllodes theres speculation the dmt could get dissolved in the gums and resins meaning its unable to be pulled out of solution by the NPS.

I do an stb on acuminata bark without a defat, results leave me with an orangey yellow spice.
