Sorry, but that doesn't look so hot. Not that looks are everything/anything. Don't think I would try that unless it smelled like the best spice I'd ever smelled AND somebody reliable and experienced had already smoked it and said, "Man, this stuff looks terrible but it is hands down some of the most potent DMT I've ever smoked." Then I might smoke it.

I've seen white, yellow, rich reddy-brown but never gray-brown! Don't smoke what you can't verify!

You're right, I always need to learn more. :lol:

I'm speaking in absolutes because I see people erring to the side of not doing more work to clean their crystal. Red is alkaloids (other than DMT) (safe), brown is basified soup (usually with lye in it), blue/green is bad solvent and poisonous. A deep hue of one can mask, or alter the other. If it is yellow, beware that it doesn't smell/taste like solvent.

I would never smoalk DMT that wasn't yellow or white. Maybe red, if it was light enough that a brown isn't masked.

^^^No, it isn't. Not necessarily.

I've extracted many many many times with D-limonene and salted out DMT with vinegar (on ACRB mostly but am currently working on a d-limo extract on MHRB). After evaporating the vinegar, I almost always get a deep red/orange goo or wax that is quite potent (so to answer that unspoken question, yes I have smoked the acetates and yes it does work. It is more hit and miss in acetate form and I do not recommend it but anyway...)

I then freebase it with sodium carb and that generally turns it to a more honey/yellow color spectrum but not always. I currently have close to .3g of red/orange-y wax/goo salted out of limonene from MHRB. I can attach a pic if interested

You are contradicting yourself. You say that red is safe and then go on to say that you should never smoke any spice that isn't white or yellow. You are causing confusion.

I understand where you are coming from but if you (in general, not you specifically) are not extracting DMT yourself, why bother? I agree that it could be potentially dangerous if you got the DMT from anywhere but yourself. But if someone came up to me, offering DMT, I would probably laugh and shrug it off. No way am I putting that in my body especially if it came from a stranger. A fellow extractor who I know personally? Even then I would still be skeptical. The Nexus is a place for harm reduction.

Also here is a thread about how people feel about selling DMT. To anyone trying to buy DMT out in the streets. Be safe and just DON'T DO IT. It is incredibly easy to extract it yourself and well worth it.

Great, now my friends are going to be like, "Don't pull the jungle spice anymore, fLeP! This guy on the internet says it's dangerous!"

Please stop with the alarmism. This guys spice has probably just gone brown from exposure to air but for safety's sake it is suggested to at least do a Re-X or mini-A/B on something like this.

BTW, I know plenty of awesome, highly intelligent people in the rave scene that could be of great help to you so maybe you should be careful about who you lump into your pile of fools.

Please don't spread this kind of misinformation here. You are the new guy here, and if you don't want to listen to any of us who have been at this for a decade or more, that is your choice...but what you are saying here is for starters, not entirely correct, and also it is dangerous and not really helping harm reduction. White or yellow crystal does not = clean or pure DMT. It could mean any number of things.

Its looks like there is a bunch of lye/plant material in it. Crappy extraction. I wouldn't smoke that. I'm no expert but an easy way to clean that is to dissolve it into some naphtha and put it in some kind of slender glass cylinder. The nasty stuff will fall to the bottom and the top layer should be yellowish.

My STB extractions normally turn out orange( I don't defat), but that looks an awful lot like my lye/ plant mixture all dried up.
