Is acacia confusa the same thing as mimosa acacia? I'm looking into teks with mimosa acacia but I see the term "confusa" used a lot and almost 0 use of the name "mimosa".

Acacia dealbata is sometimes referred to as mimosa.
This particular species has a known chemical make-up.. however none of which are favorable towards DMT production afaik.

'Mimosa Acacia' is most likely mimosa hostilis, they just switched around the name, using a combination of it's 'latin' [ I dunno, is it latin? ] and scientific sounding names ..they do it in an attempt to throw off any 'suspicion' by the post office or if it has to come from another country and go through customs, since 'Mimosa Hostilis' or 'Jurema' is now watched. They even confiscate it silently [[ Don't try to get it back, either , lol! Just Let It Go ! Or else they WILL come a'knockin' ! Just try again from somewhere else - Determination produces WONDERS ]] and they don't do anything but you lose it 
~ I've seen several creative names for mimosa hostilis .. One popular site just calls it 'Acacia Hostilis',another calls it 'Acacia Tepezcohuite' and yet another calls it 'Acacia tenuiflora' ... All the same plant, just different combinations of the various names it has around the world, depending also where it is coming from.
It's too bad that it's now so difficult to obtain Mimosa Hostilis, yet, Acacia Confusa IS just as good with it's own 'Character' of Spice-

It's a common misunderstanding though - "...it is erroneously known as "mimosa" in some areas where it is cultivated, through confusion with the related genus Mimosa" Acacia - Wikipedia

ALSO - Try looking up the words " Mimosa tenuiflora " or " Tepezcohuite " - Since, for obvious reasons, 'Mimosa Hostilis' has become more difficult to obtain, vendors are now naming it by it's other 'Monikers' .. It can still be obtained for very reasonable prices WITHIN the USA [[ If you are from USA ]] under those other 'Names' I just shared ... I don't know if I'm allowed to share the link offering it but let me just say it is much easier to obtain than one thinks and it's on a VERY popular 'Online Market' that starts with a capitol 'E' 
Acacia Confusa is native to Taiwan, also called the Taiwan Acacia. It now grows all over Asia and other parts of the world, most notably Hawaii, where it's known as the Koa tree or rainbow tree. The biggest variable to which root bark yields more would be the quality of samples being extracted. Having a good source is the true variable!
