Swim did his 1st reX,spice lost it's synthetic oder?

Swim ended up with a shot glass of pretty white crystals, and a shot glass of a smaller quantity of shiny tan crystals. Neither have that nice synthetic oder nemore... No oder at all. Is this normal?

Swim also had this idea seeing his freezer does'nt get too cold, and has easy access to dry ice. What if he made a dry ice/ acetone bath to freeze precipitate next time? That would probably produce relatively quick? I suggested he use pyrex, and put the aftermath in his not soo cold freezer afterword to avoid too much condensation or whatever?

Wouldn't liquid nitrogen also freeze the solvent as well though?

ditto.. "synthetic smell" to me sounds like naptha trapped in the crystals, they're not being dried properly otherwise.... The gooey fraction of the freeze precip you aim to remove by recyrstalizing - the thick oily, often caustic, stains the dmt from yellow to amber-brown, and adds harsh throat burn when smoked, will always retain naptha residue unless a seperate cleanup proceedure is done to clean up a smokable oil from the mother liquor. Once the freebase oil is seperated from the freebase crystal, then the recrystallized clean crystal portion will smell flowery indeed once it is very thoroughly air-dried, not taking more than a few days, even air drying.

The oil component present in an impure freeze precip yield, however, traps a lot of naptha in the uncrystallized product, and takes days of repeatedly being finely ground and pressed on filter papers and left to dry, suspended...

OP: no "chemical smell", only "flowery smell or hardly a smell at all" is good. that means you have a little to no naptha in your product. Test a sample by capping it in a small bottle for a day, then opening and smelling... if the naptha still wafts out first, then you smell the floweriness, the crystals still needs to be ground and dried further, IME

All turned out good. Finally sampled the clean oderless last night. Besides not having the oder, I could'nt taste the smoke either. But it packed as much punch as the 'flowery' spice. Plus, their was no residue on the glass. So I'm happy

Another reason I had swim reX it is because I was trying to make it easier to handle.... The spice is soo light/fluffy/clingy/waxy but I'm under the assumption, and came to accept, this is just the nature of it. Hard to load up in a little vapo test tube, sticks alot unlike other substances I've vaped in the same fashion back when I used drugs.
