Synchronic - a movie about a DMT-like drug

I'm very surprised that no one has posted a thread about this new movie, Synchronic (released in the US streaming in Feb 2021), staring Jamie Dorman and Anthony Mackie. Writers/directors are some of the best indie duos in the last 5 years (festival darlings, and even Netflix licensed their previous film).

So anyway, the film is about a designer drug created to resemble DMT (ayahuasca and DMT are named dropped specifically), and it's about accessing different time epochs depending where you were when you taking the drug. I liked the movie a lot. You can rent it on Amazon (avoid pirating it, to support indie filmmaking).

Finally saw it and it's a great movie ! Users will most likely be more aware about the subtleties in the themes but overal it's just a solid experience, it's quite entertaining, the feeling of disorientation that peremates the picture is rather well done and even the way they evoqued the effect of these substances is compelling, truthful in a figurative way and the message of it all is rather whole.

Thanks for the reccomendation, I really did enjoy that one.

Nice movie, plot is a little bit cheesy for my taste though. Maybe I took it too literally?
Visuals of tripping are really nicely done

I expected the movie to be more about psychedelics or the psychedelic experience but it turned out to be a film about friendship and preciousness of life.

A very warm-hearted film. A bit cheesy, yeah, but very likable characters. Left me in a positive mood.
