The wotofo profile 1.5 and vv mesh v2 will do fine, you just got less build space in the height for the fitted mesh. For the mesh roll it doesn't matter.

I will look into fitting glasses for these, as this will solve the space issue.

The mechlyfe rda is not suitable for spice I think. It has deck for double mesh coils.

Hey Propello! Appreciate the thread just did my first extract and attempt at direct mesh. Hit was too harsh to get all of it like really harsh. I did a re-x and it was better but still didnt quite get there. I am using the vandyvape v2 with the fitted mesh the 100s I believe. and I set the SS TC on my geek vape to what you had outlined. I got an extended mouth piece which helped but i'm still not able to kill a full 20+ mcg hit.

Most I got to was everything looked cartoony and music started sounding strange. Any help would be appreciated! Was considering trying to buy a different device. I hope my spice is fine maybe ill try running another extract with a different method. Any help i'd appreciate.
 
There is a dedicated rda called the TRVP v2 which is meant for concentrates. I think this has way better potential because you can fit the mesh downward into the dish. This completely prevents the mesh from touching the top cap and would also make it easier to load because you can drop it right into the mesh. Has anyone heard of using this device? I think this would work really well with the stainless steel 100 fitted mesh. Anyone have any thoughts. Found a picture online of the TRVP with mesh and I attached it.

A while back I had the curiosity to try the motar quartz atomizer because the seemingly easy loading. Thought I will give it a quick feedback on this as it doesn't seem to be with many reviews, for a reason I suppose:) So I decided to load up approx 45mg into the glass bucket. The vape mod is a 40W TC istick from eleaf fully charged. There was an issue somehow even when I set the TC temperature, the mod will switch to wattage in a few seconds to heat up. The mod has automatic stoppage to prevent overheating, which is kind of annoying but tolerable that I just have to remember release & press as it goes.

So I decided to just go for it anyway since everything is prepared. I hit the mod and start heating up, though while noticeable the heating rate is a lot slower than I anticipated. While I hold the air vent at the top I can see smoke filling up, and after approximate 8 seconds I took the first inhale, which I noticed to be considerably low amount. I continued the pressing/releasing in hope to get more vapor within shorter time frame, but after several attempts I've only seen faint geometric patterns and barely gone through the other side. Afterwards, I noticed a lot of vapor stick to the interior glass as well as the incomplete burnt tars around the motar basin in the bottom.

IMO, this is an inferior setup for spice even compare to yocan and definitely less than titanium bucket & mesh, but probably great for some other stuffs.

hi ive tried the direct mesh without much success so far. so I brought the motar to try I think its great best thing ive trid so far just 30 watts pulsed a few times to melt and heat up then kept butto down til it cut off vaped 500 mg slow inhale no waste that i can see on glass you have to keep it level looks like you may have used it sideways by the pics

hi thanks ive got the v2 rda and 150 mesh ss316 just looking at it now I had the mesh to high up and the cap pushed down onto the mesh just noticed the melted spice on the inside of the cap lol.im sure its a great method i just have to get it right cheers

Yes you need to make the mesh as low as possible with the v2. Don't push the top cap all the way down, stop at the first o-ring to make more vertical space.

I have received the v2 and a 24/40 glass that fits. I'll post pictures of set up tomorrow with fitted mesh.

hi I tried it again last night with much better results without the cao just used a tooter to inhale so im going to get that glass cap you mentioned cheers.
 
Hey Propello have you ever heard of the trvp v2 that i mentioned in my earlier posts? It would solve the top cap issue completely and the fitted mesh would be super easy to make

Hi Propello,

I followed this thread for a long time and decided to invest in a Aegis Solo box + Vandy Vape V2.
I just did a 15mg dose to "test the water" as they say: Well all I can say is that I was not disappointed :)
I can't imagine how far you can go with a 25/30mg dose 😁

I tried different methods before (dab rig / nectar) and all I can say is that the mesh one will be my only one as of today.

As you can see below, I added my old (now retired 😁 ) nectar on top of the box to cool down the smoke.

Eternal respect for the time you spent documenting this thread and this wonderful method! :thumb_up:

30 mesh is too coarse, the deems will fall through. You need finer mesh. 100-150 mesh in stainless steel is best.

Sorry to bother you guys again. When you say I need a 100-150 mesh, what exactly is it that you are talking about? Is this:
-the holes per linear inch
-micron - wire diameter
-micron - aperture

I guess aperture. But better safe than sorry. :)
