the dubstep thread

Migrated topic.
I've been away from the Nexus for a few weeks and have to say it's good to be back. So many fresh opinions here that I don't get so often in my day to day life. Thank you all.

So anyway, I think this guy is going to be huge. Love to hear some opinions.

Oh Dubstep.

I love you. But it is impossible to get the full Dubstep experience without a sub woofer

I have a great sound system actually, but without the sub woofer I might as well just be using an ipod with ear buds.

I really must invest in one, as they have multiple uses (Breaking up emulsions)

Although, I have a friend who LOVES Dubstep. And he has some fantastic bass in his car.
Nothing better than having your brain vibrated.

Odd? I don't think you need a sub-woofer if you've got a full range system. It's either
satelites + sub or full-range. What have you got?

More later. Dubstep is chill. I dont like this midrange teenage stuff.

I ain't got no sub. I'm inheriting these speakers, will they be good enough? JK, I know they will be. Those are 15" woofers btw.

I hate subwoofers. The only time I had a need for them was when I had Acoustat electrostatic speakers (forget the model, but they were about 7 feet tall) but they sucked for rock music.
My old Vandersteen 1b's sounded great playing anything (heathkit w5m tube monoblocks and a dynaco pas-2), but I had that system before dubstep. FSOL, Aphex Twin, Autechre all sounded great though.

Here's my favorite dubstep artist. Pretty glitched out, do you dubstep purists might not like it: Boxcutter

I heard some kickass dubstep at boom festivals groovy beach, but i am far to deep in the psy swamp to start digging in to something new..

Dubstep for me either very interesting or extremly boring.

Best tracks ive heard is smashing forrest/dark psy with heavy dubstep influences.
