The importance of dieta

Migrated topic.

PsyloCiBeen

In Silence I Been
"When diet is wrong medicine is of no use,
when diet is correct medicine is of no need"- Ancient Aryurvedic saying

It has been a long time Nexians, but the Nexus is so amazing everytime I log on and I have a feeling it will always be so primarily because of the vast archive of information already here and I am sure of more to come from fellow psychonauts. The wealth of insights here on pyschedelics is unparralled anywhere else on the wild wild net. This feels many times like I have entered the Akashic Records (psychic hall of all information).

The above quote is an indication of where I am, for the last year now I have overhauled my diet completely. I have given up alcohol the source of most of my woes and the reason some trips were heavier and not launching and I have also taken a break from the plant medicines. But I have now use herbs to heal and repair my body from valerian, gingko, motherwort, lemon balm, oatstraw, marhsmallow root, to name a few. I have changed my diet to pesceterian and I mostly eat vegetables, increased my fruit and vitamin c uptake. I also replenish probiotics in my body with kombucha that i make at home, 3 liters a week and growing. I have also stopped all forms of smoking. The results have been phenomenal. More clarity and I found I am more sensitive to the plant medicines I partake in. When I do consume cannabis edibles for example (perhaps twice a month or less) I find a little goes a long way, and less and less is required for me to get a good dose and experience. I also noted this when I did ayahauasca for the first time. The month long fast I undertook before an ayahuascha ceremony truly helped me get an immersive experience. Conversely when I used to drink a milk stout beer and then do changa, I would blast off but not very far. The same when I do mushrooms, diet and fasting before hand always produce more intense and profound experiences almost as if one is taken respect for the plant medicine and showing this through patterns of consumption.

Is it possible to take diet to far? And say okay i cannot do any plant medicines for a week at least because I just ate a sausage roll and I need to cleanse it out of my system. Does that lead to the ego easily being able to make excuses for not doing a journey?

The preparation one takes before any substance is pivotal in how ones jounrney is experienced. Is this true for you? I believe it is and thus a three day fast or more (even from sex or its one armed form) I find always helps to lighten the load (no pun intended) and make the transition easier. Combining a fast and the day one doses with a significant astronomical events like full moons, eclipses and planetary alignments I feel potentiates this even further. I would love to hear your thoughts on this?

I feel you. The body truly is our temple and we should care for it and nurture it. I've started doing the same thing as you. Taking care of myself eases a lot of anxiety about health I have had when ingesting molecules. To me this is categorized under the Set principle and really could coincide with setting as well because most of us here are after inner experiences. I'm glad that you have found your way to a healthy path and hope that you posting this here leads others down the right path as well.

That's an amazing thing to give up alcohol and smoking, PsyloCiBeen. Well done!

Preparation is extremely important to me, yes. I find psychedelics start healing prior to taking them because of this. In the past, I would tend to do work on myself (physically and mentally) to help prepare myself as best as possible to journey. Do the things which are in my power to do. Cover all variables and then the rest is up to nature.

These days I do self work for the sake of being healthy enough to fully love myself and others. This does then lead nicely into journeying as well. Psychedelics were definitely the first catalyst for helping me change many years ago.

All part of set and setting?

Like always, humans are able to take things to extremes or even obsessions, to eventually become counter productive. I think it's a very enjoyable course to find ones sweat spot equilibrium, like the Buddha said: for music the string has the right tension, not too loose and not too hard.

For myself I'd like to be more disciplined though

Hi PsyloCibeen

I can really relate to your post. I have been doing the same thing now for a few months.
I feel for a "good" trip it is vital to feel healthy.
As i get older eating junk food or drinking alcohol throws me off balance for a few days.
My girlfriend is making fun of me because i am training every day and stopped smoking weed.
I only do edibles every few weeks and rarely vape Weed or DMT.
It is true that fasting and taking care of your body reduces the amount needed of any substance.
My last trip was only on 200 mics of LSD and it was absolutely life changing.
I used to take usually twice or even more of that amount.
Delaying your journeys just shows how much you value these substances.
It is like preparing the perfect date for your loved one. 😁
And i don´t think you are taking your diet to far if you feel better and stronger
then before.

I never thought about the moon as a factor but maybe i should try.

Anyways i wish you all the best

Have a gud one
