The initial "come-on".

Hello DMT-Nexus,

I was enjoying some of my enhanced leaf the other day when I thought of a good post for our community, one that others may also be curious about, that I would love some feedback on!

What is it like for you, when you feel the initial "come-on" of DMT? Do you have visuals or a body rush/high before you "blast-off"? A combination of both?

For me, with my leaf, I feel a body high coming on, and it reminds me A LOT like the "come-on" of salvia or the feeling of "surrender". I feel a strange sensation in my lungs and breathing and my whole body, I feel another strange sensation in my muscles and my body just wants to lay down. I close my eyes, and then I am off!
Wonderful visions galore.

What about you guys/girls? Is there something peculiar that ALWAYS happens before the world shifts into the next dimension?
A "signature" feeling, perhaps?

First the texture of everything shifts. A very peculiar unwordable feeling sets in. The definition of everything becomes enhanced and polished. 2D patterns form on the wall (or whatever surface I'm looking at). As I continue to focus on the wall and/or patterns, the patterns become more complex, and pop out of the wall floating in 3+ dimensions as open-eyed holograms which proceed to make their way over to me, following my stream of attention straight to me. If they can properly align themselves with myself, then the parts that have aligned get a phase-boost in color, shifting to high, intense frequencies. This seems to give them more ability to do the loopy things they like to do. If the alignment is poor, they might not connect at all in which case the entire experience will take place, but it's sort of as if it's not happening to me, but rather around me. It is quite unsatisfactory for all parties involved.

Now I include all of the above as part of the initial come on because even though I listed numerous things, they can (and often do) all happen as I'm holding in my initial hit in the span of 4-20 seconds. A lot of surreal things can happen in that time span. One time the open-eyed holograms that greeted me were these six foot tall Egyptian sentinel statues just casually floating around my bedroom.

I notice colors brighten; my hearing is tuned-in (made more keen). This is usually the first hit. My vision gains a deeper level of confusion if that makes sense. I feel almost awkward. Salvia is one word that always reminds me of the way it feels. Then the second hit. Held to how ever long. I usually loose consciousness of the fact that I am holding my breathe. Time stops, I close my eyes. I feel "the feeling" come on and I know I am going to break through. It's a dot-like feeling. It starts in my leg and moves to my head and then I POOF, bye bye.

Also, I notice that I smell, taste, feel the presence of chacruna tea. Same taste. Leaves my brain feeling in a similar way after wards as ayahuasca. Blown and divine.

Salvia is definitely the one word that rings true. :]

Hrmm, well Global did a real good job at explaining, but i'll attempt to add my 2 cents.

Nothing can truly explain those initial couple seconds as you take in the first hit. Every layer of YOU is removed. Thoughts, worries, negatives, positives, hopes, fears, etc.....they're ALL GONE. Time totally ceases. The experience is clearly outside the framework of time. Those first few seconds after the first hit....it feels like...at my core...i've never left this moment...EVER.....and im not going anywhere. Ive always been right here...observing.

Colors enhance and pop, every object within view begins to slowly shift in multiple directions with the vibratory quality increasing greatly. This vibratory quality that takes over everything also takes over my entire body. My body starts to synch with this vibration until my vision literally breaks down, dissolving into a waterfall of pure vibration, then WOOSH, im gone.

The vibration that causes everything to change seems to be all one thing that is part and parcel with me, the observer. The visions are one n' the same with this vibration. Completely connected. A complete symbiosis. This vibration is HEAVY and COURSING.

[Gone-and-Back]

For me the initial come on is somewhat unpleasant. At the same time it is not however. My vision becomes enhanced somewhat, like everything is HD. However, stuff can also become very fuzzy and start floating around with very intense trails. Either way, as this is happening, complex geometric patterns start forming on the surfaces of doors/walls/etc. These patterns grow in intensity and eventually pop out at me, which is when I REALLY start feeling the body high. The feeling in my body is like intense muscle tightness, accompanied by a distinct buzzing feeling. I usually have to lay down to relax enough to enjoy it. All this happens very quickly, within 20-30 seconds if I smoke through my bong like usual. Try to take it all at once.

I contribute these differences in the come on to the fact that each time its different, I am usually using a different plant extract. The clearer vision came from the MHRB spice that I have smoked. This also gives trails but not as intense as other plants.

The other times I have used Chaliponga spice. This is what gives me more of the fuzzy vision and intense trails. Both of these plants though give me the same effects when speaking about the other effects that occur along with these different ones.

Everyone else that has smoked the same spice though does not get the muscle tenseness like I do, I believe its due to me having Tourrettes. I am usually tense to begin with because of it, but this increases it or makes me more aware of it. Im not sure which one really.

Once I get past these effects though and lay down and relax, I am gone.

Recently I have entered hyperspace more slowly by taking two hits rather than one big hit and the result is less shocking and intense.
I load the pipe with about 40mg and take a light toke. This gets me in the zone, then I wait maybe 20 seconds or so, and when it feels right i then take all the rest in one one toke and its buh-bye.
I always used to do it in all in one hit but sometimes it was too overwhelming, just too much at once like a freight train coming at me followed by panic. My two hit method seems much more mellow and controlled.

For me it's kind of like the first moment of a panic attack. My senses instantly become extremely heightened as I begin to focus on random details.
I get a sort of buzzing in my ears and colors start to brighten.

I made this joke in another topic about this, but I'm usually thinking something like:

"Oh shit oh shit oh shit why did I think was a good idea, oh dear God I'm going to die, I'm going nuts, oh shit..."

Then I get a very pronounced rushing feeling (intensity depends on the dose) as though I'm being sucked out of my body, and once I've left my physical-self behind, most things sort of even themselves out and I sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

I definitely feel like I'm coming up on Salvia when I take a smaller toke of DMT. If the dosage is big enough, sometimes I skip that entirely though.

For me, I get a slight body load initially, then on occasion I have the feeling of spiderwebs in my mouth (not all ways) during the first 30 seconds, which is accompanied by a cartoonish style look. If I keep my eyes open, my world "dissolves" around me and I then get thrown into immense geometric patterns. The visuals when "coming-up" are almost all ways different. Sometimes they can be amazingly beautiful, but other times quite dark and plain wierd.

I actually was put in the "waiting room" for the first time a few weeks ago, which was new for me. I usually never have to "wait" to enter hyperspace.

Try my method or changa.
You could prepare two pipes. The first with a small dose ( say 15-20mg) and the second with a larger dose ( maybe another 20mg.) Toke the first pipe and you know it wont take you so far that you'll freak. Then when you are already in the comfort zone the hit on the second pipe will pull you through the wormhole.
Even though I have been partaking in the spirit molecule for many years I find this method to be the gentle hyperspace entrance method. One full rip of 40 mgs or so sometimes still scares the crap out of me!:shock:

Changa may have a smoother entrance, but IME when the changa causes the experience to come on a bit slower and smoothly, it makes up for with a volcanically explosive climax that can seem to come out of just about nowhere. I personally like the come-on just the way it is with pure DMT. For my taste, it happens at just the right pace (instantaneously) with the proper aesthetics, and vibes.

I love the harmala influenced come up, my favourites are when im on oral harmalas and take my hit and for a second I think "hey its not worked" then the slow dissolve starts and reality is seamlessly and smoothly replaced pixel by pixel with the madness, it seems to take about 2 seconds for the dissolve to complete. I love it, I love it, I love it, slow fade for the win:d

Every time no fail, I say to myself "you did it this time". No matter how many times I think I vaporize I will never be able to remember fully just how insane it really is. Theres always this feeling that I better lay down quick and hold on to something, even though theres nothing to hold on to to ease the intensity.

As far as the visual aspect Global nailed it pretty well. It just kills me how powerful this stuff really is, it seems like your soul/subconscious remembers how strong, but your brain is incapable of fully committing to memory all the information. Thats why as soon you toke and start to link up with the tryptamine dimension, you get that feeling of familiarity I believe.

as I hold the vapor in it feels like the centre of my head is imploding and for lack of a better word being "tickled" or cosmically "stroked" .. its a very pleasant physical effect for me and holds similarities to an opium rush - but magnified beyond belief and still much differen't and obviously holds a more variable (and incomprehensible) outcome in the next stage.

..on not quite breakthrough doses veins of diamond sorta tapestry (like the lotus symbol) starts penetrating through my vision and layering on top of my surroundings.. on large doseages this tapestry is more three dimensional and the lines are more likes pipes.. they feel as if they are folding me into their bosom and then after that I breakthrough into the "space" in which anything can happen.. being nurtured by loving beings, shown impossible objects, communicated to via an lfo cuttoff filter like tone that increases in lfo speed as I contemplate, and slows to a constant as I surrender.

an interesting thing I've noticed too and i'd like to know if other plant enthusiasts get this phenomenon: on lower doseages when smoking acacia especially after being around the trees all day I often have beautiful closed eye visions of the branches of the tree intertwining with each other.. not unlike a pablo amaringo piece but with acacia. the same happens without smoking dmt if I have spent time around the trees earlier.... often when i go for bushwalks and i'm around the trees all day when I shut my eyes at various points I have mild visions of the tree that has caught my mind
