The origin of clowns?

Migrated topic.
dang MV- that was about as comprehensive a history of clowns as i could ever ask for! thank for that my brother.

i have seen clowns...many of them....they are always benevolent and there is an aire about them that speaks to me of "not being afraid". i'm beginning to think that hyperspace travel really is like a classroom with different "grades" or "phases" one goes through. in the beginning, i had a lot of clowns and elves and toys and such. after a few hundred journeys, they gave way to different entities and rooms. few hundred later and now i am almost always going to a city on a far away (yet right here) planet and getting "language lessons" from insectoid beings operating great pieces of cosmic machinery.

if there is any sort of rhyme or reason, i would say that the clowns, jesters and elves are the "first wave" we go through when beginning our journeys into hyperspace. i feel as if it is an effort being made to instill our fragile egos with the assurity that "all is well, just let go, it's all a big, creative carnival over here!"

that's the feeling i always got....and still continue to get the deeper i go. there is creativity and it is limitless. it has no necessary form or shape and none of it is "good" or "bad". it's just a matter of getting us to gradually let go more and more.

kind of like "rodeo clowns", i view clowns as always having your best interest at heart and always doing their best to help/protect you/your mind as you slowly immerse yourself into infinity.

me likey da klownz!

LOVE AND GRATITUDE!!

The Trickster Archetype

The Trickster or Clown, is an example of a Jungian archetype. In modern literature the trickster survives as a character archetype, not necessarily supernatural or divine, sometimes no more than a stock character.

and this is where it gets interesting...

While the trickster crosses various cultural traditions, there are significant differences between tricksters in the traditions of many indigenous peoples and those in the European tradition:

"Many native traditions held clowns and tricksters as essential to any contact with the sacred. People could not pray until they had laughed, because laughter opens and frees from rigid preconception. Humans had to have tricksters within the most sacred ceremonies for fear that they forget the sacred comes through upset, reversal, surprise. The trickster in most native traditions is essential to creation, to birth".[17]

Great thread, I became quite interested in clowns/jesters after some Spice journeys of my own in which I encountered some very joyful, playful, light-filled clowns coming out of the creek I was sitting by. The clowns seemed to carry this message of, "Spice is a magical, divine substance, we're so glad to see you!". After this experience I researched the history of the clown in the various world cultures, and came across this fascinating insight from Joseph Campbell, in the transcript of his interviews with Bill Moyers entitled "The Power of Myth": "This is why clowns and clown religions are helpful. German and Celtic myths are full of clown figures, really grotesque deities. This makes the point, I am not the ultimate image, I am transparent to something. Look through me, through my funny form." The clown is not important; what stands behind the clown, what the clown points to, is what matters.

I remember in another thread someone suggested that the clowns and jesters and similar entities are sort of introductory entities in the Spice realms, leading naturally to something beyond. What that is, I don't know, but this same clown-like entity frequently appears in both inner and outer visions after I partake. After reading on here, I now know I haven't broken through to hyperspace. I've encountered some very wild entities, and seen very wild things happen both in the inner and outer worlds, and been "milked" by a number of entities, so I feel that hyperspace has begun to download my consciousness, as someone else suggested, but has yet to reveal itself to me in its massive splendour. Any advice for finding what's beyond the clowns would be greatly appreciated, though I suspect this may just come with time.

Peace * Love * Hail Eris!

I saw the clowns walking up the walls, and upside down, in the walls of a box, it just looked like a square from my angle.
One was just folowing the other, almost on the exact opposite side, of the other clown.

NOt really scary, just weird.

And i think i may have seen them boxing in a ring as well, big red gloves
