This is the thread that never ends {Warning this thread will never end}

Migrated topic.
Come to think of it:

Silly Old Baboon by Spike Milligan

There was a baboon
Who one afternoon
Said I think I will fly to the sun
So with great palms
strapped to his arms
he started he takeoff run

Mile after mile
He galloped in style
But never once left the ground
You’re going too slow said a passing crow
Try reaching the speed ofsound

SO
he put on a spurt
My God how it hurt
both the soles of his feet caught on fire
There were great clouds of steam
As he went through a stream
But he still didn't get any higher

He raced on through the night
both his knees caught alight
clouds of smoke billowed out of his rear!!!
Quick to his aid
Came the fire brigade
Who chased him for over a year

Many moons passed by
Did Baboon ever fly
Did he ever get to the sun
I’ve just heard today,
he’s well on his way
He’ll be passing through Acton at one.

PS – well, what do you expect from a baboon?

I'm going to try to prove that this thread never ends. Maybe then we can stop posting.

For any post N, one can always find a post with a higher number M>N by scrolling down or, if N is the last post at the time, by posting a reply (in wich case M=N+1). Since there can always be a higher ordered post in the thread, this thread is an infinite set and therefore will never end.

So the OP was correct and we can close the discussion. We can lock the thread which will not affect the proof in any way (oh wait...)

At least such thread is countably infinite,, having same cardinality as a set of whole numbers...

...at least asymptoticallly, which can be easily proven by the fact the posts are numbered.

I am happy to be part of something that never ends, this may have been why I was born into this world, a lost voice in an echo never reaching shore.
