never heard of em, really cool though. i see that was released on Warp Records which is pretty cool, i need to dig deeper into their rosterI find him pretty awesome. Inventive, clever, fun, and leaving you wanting for more. I wonder how much he was influenced by autechre.
And these guys are still going too. Had their inception in the late 80s.
One love
GREAT way to put it...Tipper enhances a trip, Shpongle is one. I think it must be Tipper's sound design, incredible...
I've listened to Bluetech and Etheogenic, I'll check these out though as it's been awhileEntheogenic, Bluetech, or Smilk
I was actually going to mention Billy Strings in that reply but figured it was a bit too far off the mark It's good to know he's getting some love on the Nexus. I would've killed to see him play in a small venue, I still hope to see him one day at all. Khruangbin is great, but that was definitely the right choice.I've heard a few Khruangbin songs, but not much. they played here the same night as a Billy Strings show in 2020-2021-ish, but i ended up going to the Billy Strings show as it was one of the last shows he played in a smaller venue (that i'm aware of) here.
I'm glad that worked out for you - Divine Moments of Truth was my first Shpongle song too and it almost turned me off of them completely! - possibly because I wasn't doing DMT. Luckily, I picked up Tales of the Inexpressible one day at a record store and it just blew me away. Still holding out for another album in the coming yearsIf I'm not mistaken, my induction to Shpongle was at the same moment as my induction into DMT, as my friends thought that Divine Moments of Truth would be the best song for my first few journeys.
I almost mentioned Entheogenic in my reply as well, another great one. I haven't heard of the other two though, I'll be sure to check 'em out.Have you guys come across Entheogenic, Bluetech, or Smilk by chance? In the vein of trippy electronic auditory goodies, these guys are pretty great too.
Yeah Tipper is the dude.. one of the great pioneers in psychedelic electronic music. I love that he used to be a truck driver and took influence from the sounds in his line of work.. at least that’s what my lecturer told me when I was studying audio..besides Shpongle and the Grateful Dead, Tipper is up there as one of my favorite psychedelic artists. what do you guys think?
Have you heard the In Dub album Ott did? Is a dub mix of some of Simon Posford’s Hallucinogen tracks.. Is super epicY'all are speaking my language up in this thread!! Shpongle, Tipper, OTT, and khraungbin are all dear to my heart. If you aren’t hip, Khraungbin is doing a massive US tour right now, so you can probably catch them live this year if you want to.
I’ll add one of my all time favs that rides this vein also; Lemonjelly. If you aren’t familiar I really encourage you to listen to the whole album as a single piece
Thanks for a cool thread!!
