Treat our kids like they’re going to save the world...

Migrated topic.
☝️☝️☝️And this is the perspective I see so many of the next generation holding. They are true and beautiful. And it warms my heart.

Not that I disagree with your heart on this one, but on an intellectual level I don't think this is actually a good approach;

It is a burden to insinuate to a child that they will/must/can save the world. More importantly, what is it that actually needs being saved? The world doesn't need saving, not really. What needs saving is a personal and subjective 'thing' - we need to save ourselves.

All the issues we face are the result of people and their ignorance, therefore it is the lifting of ignorance that is required. This isn't to be achieved intellectually or through some education approach, which telling children they're going to save the world is, but by allowing children to be what they already are.

We place too much of a burden on children already to fit our own ideas of what is required as 'civilised humans', and the result is ever increasing depression, anxiety, and mental troubles. I say we should treat children with respect to the fact they are closer to true health already than we are as messed up adults - they need time, space, and emotional support from strong male and female adults.

I don’t think they need anyone to tell them any of this. I thinks it’s in their souls.

I think we’re saying the same thing in different words. Doing all the things you said will in turn save the world. And I didn’t say tell them they’re going to save the world, but just treat them like it. (Respect, love, support)
