Does anyone know if it is safe to indulge in the incense of Trichocereus Chalaensis?
I have a few yummy blue cuts that will go in the soil and wondering if some should boil...
Looking around the web I have not been able to secure any information regarding alkaloids in this
cactus. Are there any links or literature you fine creatures are aware of?

It should be safe, as no trichocereus has yet been found that is a pharmacological hazard.
The worst effect I've ever got from consuming various trichs was nausea, feeling like I was buried in sand bags, no visuals, and it seeming like silence was blasting far too loudly

It's in the glaucus/uyupampensis/chalaensis complex. I've heard talk that glaucus has been consumed and is mildly to moderately active, uyupampensis was reported by Ogunbodede et al. to be 1/10th the potency of pachanoi and 1/3 the potency of bridgesii in terms of mescaline alone. But other constituents can alter the potency picture.

So, in summary...
Eat moar drugz? :?
And post a report with a cactus pic if you do
A good closeup of the spination is helpful.

I couldn't find a reference to Chalaensis and mescaline either, but from the pics I see like most Trichs they are handsome creatures.

Whack it, gack it, yak it and tell us about it. :D

So a brew of about 2 feet of Trichocereus Chalaensis with lemon and lime juice is prepared.
This morning I woke up and drank a sip and it appears to have the love within.
Tonight I will be venturing deeper into the Chala wonderland

Around 2 feet was consumed in a tea simmered for an afternoon.
Strong anxiety reducing effects with keen focus and mild euphoria.
Would take 5 feet to feel like the full thing.
Brew was very thicc and slimey and hard to get down.
Sleep was great.

Would rather just grow this beautiful cactus then eat it.
I imagine growing it out a few more years and fertilizing it will increase alkaloids.

Trichocereus Chalaensis tea is chill.

Sounds great. Thanks for your explanation.
It is a really beautiful plant as well.
Good to know that it has the lovely bitterness...

Interesting. Reminds me of T. Chilensis with such big spines and a similar name :). Once had a brew of Chilensis with minimal effects and a taste which resembled.. raw potatoes?

Consumed a week after harvesting @ downwardsfromzero

I've kept Bridgesii cuttings in the dark for weeks/months and
didn't really notice too much of a difference in potency.

Would you recommend that for next time?

I don't really see myself consuming more of this in the near future, but who knows...

Do note though that the cactus helped with anxiety and focus.
