Migrated topic.

Making the switch is too costly. I have too much software I invested in that only runs on Windows.

Hey 69ron! In your earlier post you say you are at expert level in regards to these 'puters, so I would assume making the switch to ubuntu and running wine to run any and all of your costly software that you invested in would be no sweat. Use this form to search through the wine db to see if the programs you need to run are there:

I am currently running Ubuntu 8.1. I made the switch from Windows XP late last year and have not looked back, I can assure you it is worth the time investment to switch. No more do I need to waste my time running spyware removers and virus/trojan scanners etc. and so much other stuff that can be avoided.

If after my rant you still have your heart set on windows, then coming from someone who used windows a whole, whole lot in the past; back up all your data onto external drives you know are clean, and totally nuke your installation! Trying to save a windows install that has been compromised that badly will most likely never get the machine back to the condition it was when it was first installed.

Even if eventually the virus scanners claim it is clean that does not make it so! The program only scans what it knows to look for, meaning it needs db updates to stay functional. Only problem is viruses are made much faster than they can scan for them and put out fixes and updates for them! This translates to hundreds if not thousands of signatures that go undetected. This does not even take into account polymorphism and viruses/worms that morph and change but still execute the same thus evading scanners.

Best advice is to nuke and install ubuntu, second best is to reinstall windows. Other than that, don't expect it to ever be perfect again if it is a really, really nasty virus/trojan/worm/rootkit whatever you have.

I would like to say separately and ask a question, what is the problem with bouncing bear? I have ordered 3K's of MHRB and it was all not only potent but when I ordered seeds of other stuff and I had a problem with what came, they sent me out more for free and they were very nice in dealing with.

The spice I made from their product was so high quality, I have given it out to more than a dozen people with more than a dozen people reporting back epic journey's, trips, adventures, etc, so I ask, I call anyone out in fact; what is wrong with bbb? What is up that I don't know? Who has ordered from them, tested it, and had it to be low quality or some other issue?

All my experience with them has been excellent, I say all this and point to my own thread in STB forum using bark from bbb and check out the results:
My first extraction attempt

I sincerely doubt that someone from bbb would actually 'hack' -> whatever that even means -> into an account here to spam advertise. Wouldn't it be easier to just start a new account and do the same thing???!??! I mean, this is a public board isn't it, it is not exactly what we would call 'hard' to get an account here, in fact all it takes a few fingers, a half-brain and a slightly dim-wit. (humor btw)

To me, it sounds like, well like, bs.

That sounds like advertising, in and of itself?

Well part of it anyways. It made me laugh. A thread about BBB hacking, and you just happen to mention how brilliant and extravagent there product is, and how it gave the best yeilds in the world.
