Used Cyb's tek for the first time - a few questions to guide my process (got goo!)

I'm not totally sure what I did wrong but my MHRB extraction was very waxy and the yield was fairly low.
Could my issue have been too much heat? I put my jar with all the material on the stove and tried to keep it just under boiling.
I did not do a re-x yet, but the stuff is so waxy it is very hard to deal with.
I shook the product, but I have heard that using salt helps prevent emulsions and such (I had no emulsion and the NPS layer separated very easily) so I'm not sure if this was my issue or not.
I used 100g of MHRB instead of 50 and I may have got my ratios wrong. The tek says not to just double everything but does not give any guidance on what you should actually do.
Also, instead of Re-x'ing, could I just put the NPS layer into a different pyrex jar before putting it in the freezer and heating that jar to help separate, or do I need to crystalize before doing that.
Any tips with this process would be greatly appreciated! Thanks very much guys.

just follow the instructions

Lol, yup.

I've never worked worked with MHRB, only acacia, and fwiu mimosa does usually produce fluffy xtals, while wax is common with acacia. Perhaps you have a mislabeled sample.

Wax is still pretty freaking awesome, and in fact some of us prefer it. I really like enhanced leaf and it's great for that.

Sure, it ain't pretty, but then again, neither am i.

Indeed, follow it to a T. Don't deviate from a tek unless you have a solid grasp on the process and what you are doing.

Also, are you saying that you put the whole mix (basic lye sludge and naphtha) on the stove to heat it? That is extremely dangerous! Naphtha is very flammable and should never be anywhere near a direct heat source like a stove. Use a warm water bath by heating water in a container large enough to hold your extraction vessel and then put your extraction vessel in the warm water, far away from the stove!

Hot naphtha pulls more impurities (plant fats and oils) and can hinder the crystallizing process but as Null24, just because it is wax does not mean that it won't be potent.

It was definitely the heat. Even a crock pot can give off to much heat for extractions. You can get similar results without heat but it requires more pulls. 6 pulls without heat is the perfect number for me. I would play around with heat down the road but for now stick with the basics and get those beautiful white crystals. No you don't re-x like that! don't be lazy lol. good luck :) ......
