uses of heptane re-xing and sodium carb washing?

Foaf used q21's tek with ace VM&P naphtha on roughly 30g of mhrb.

foaf wants to ensure he has a very clean end product.

He did not see the results of his Naphtha evaporation test until he already did a single pull, let it crystallize over night, and poured off as much of the Solvent as possible into another container, then let the rest of the solvent air dry off of the crystals.

Please find it in your hear to forgive my foaf he had recently used d-limo and just didn't think about doing the Naphtha evap test until he was string the solvent with the basified bark. he swears on his soul he will never be so negligent ever again.

The test left an oily residue. and the residue is visible on and around the xtals that were precipitated and dried.

The big question FOAF has is he doesn't know between heptane re-xing and sodium carbonate washing which would aid most (or at all) in removing this residue.

he thinks that a Heptane re-x is designed to remove other alkaloids such as the "jungle spice" or other "non-active" plant alkaloids, and not best for trying to remove this solvent.

and that a sodium carbonate wash on freebase xtals would be the more appropriate procedure to get rid of the residue.

Any help is appreciated, he has looked in many of threads using the search tool wiki-dmt-nexus and other sites, but the term "impurities" comes up alot and he just wanted to fully understand the different applications of these procedures.

foaf says he thinks that if he redissolves the xtals in a solvent that evaps clean, and does a sodium carbonate wash this should remove the residue form the xtals.

VM&P naphtha should evap clean from what I understand. It evaporates clean for me every time. I think what I normally get is called Clean Strip VM&P naphtha. Are you sure the oily residue on the xtals is naphtha? Do they smell at all like naphtha?

my friends friend says that there is a distinct naphtha smell still on the xtals after drying for 48hrs. he said the ace brand naphtha surely did not evap clean and has tried evap testing another brand of naphtha "sunnyside" but this also left a oily residue as well. so foaf thinks he will able to clean this residue from his xtals when he finds a NPS that evaps clean, hopefully today he will get bestine, test it, and and try to do a sodium carbonate wash. foaf will then freeze precipitate it from the bestine. and then redissolving the xtals it in a very minimal ammount of dried acetone and slowly evaping
he thinks this should fix his residue problem.

i dont know much else that this oily substance could be, maybe it could be some jungle alkaloids, but the un clean evap test and the smell reassures me that naphtha residue is the culprit

could swim take some dirty free base xtals redissolve them in Dlimo and acid wash the limo, and slowly evap to "clean up" some naphtha residue off some xtals, foaf feels like nothing evaps clean when he tests it, foaf says even the bestine seems to leave a residue, or perhaps he is not doing the test right.
