I was wondering if any of my fellow Nexians have had any success in using the manske tek on MHRB. I have conducted research on it, but have only found it to be used on Harmala-containing plants. I was wondering if this tek could be successfully used on MHRB, and if not, why wouldn't it work on extracting DMT from MHRB?

This has always interested me, but im pretty certain that DMT-HCL will not solidify in water. an interesting path to look into would be finding a way to precipitate fumerate saltf shortly after cooking, but im not sure as ive never even bought any fumeric acid (which is a powder?) and am only vaguely familiar with FASA

The Manske technique relies on the low solubility of the harmala HCL's in saturated NaCl to precipitate them out.

DMT HCl is highly soluble in water so Manske does not work for DMT.

All this is explained at the wiki

i was under the impression you couldn't even base precip dmt.....

...can you?

i would think freebase dmt in cold water would have a hard time staying dissolved.

i can't help but feel this idea is so obvious that is has been tried many times, and i don't know anyone reporting success

and this method (and this one too) of freebasing basically does just that....

i don't see how that would be different than a harmala extraction. but again, it seems too obvious.

Freebase DMT can float to the surface as a liquid when warm but I am uncertain of the exact conditions required to optimize chances of this happening.

I'm sure there was a thread about this on here somewhere...

A quick search throws up this; also I've a picture somewhere, copied from the thread I was actually thinking of, of liquid DMT floating out of a basified solution. Can't find it right now, though.

Edit: And there was this little discussion.
