The batch of MHRB I've is almost entirely powder, is this going to affect my straining when doing the acid cooks and sieving off the juice?

The last A/B, my first, I did was much more fibrous but I could have filtered the juice better, it feels like this batch is going to be a pain!

I'm doing 2 or 3 Freeze / Thaw cycles on this and currently have it wetted up with water and vinegar in the freezer, probably get it in the slow cooker at the weekend.
500g MHRB + 250ml Vinegar and 600ml Deionised Water this was just enough to get it thoroughly wetted.

You can leave it standing for like half an hour then slowly pour it through a cotton cloth leaving behind the sludge, no need to get every last drop as you'll be doing more boils/washes. And then wash the cloth into the pot for the next boil. If your pot is not so pour friendly, pour it first into a more appropriate container like a bottle.

You can then let the collected liquid stand and pour through a finer filter again leaving sedimentas behind. Once the top liquid passes, you can then pour the sludhe and wash it with water through a filter.

Fine powders will quickly clog any kind of filter that's why I think it’s best to not pour it through a filter.

I'm really not sure freeze-thaw cycles are worth the energy, going from member's experience on this site, especially with powdered bark.
Anyway, I would just plan on taking a few more days than anticipated for the extraction, and allow the tea to settle overnight before each filtering. It really is quite satisfying, in the morning, seeing the lovely layers of work gravity has done while you were sleeping.

Why filter it at all? I always use powder and have never needed to filter it. What's the purpose of filtering?
Some people say that it helps preventing emulsions but it's not clear whether it's true or not. At least when I filtered it (working with shredded bark) I still got an emulsion.

Also if using a separatory funnel filtering becomes necessary.

But yes for the typical dmt extraction paths filtering is unecessary.

Thanks for all the feedback folks much appreciated, I'll pour carefully and I'm already set up to be able to filter better than on my first extraction with a bigger sieve and some straining cloth / nylon mesh bags etc.
I see the Freeze/Thaw as an aid and not a waste of my time because I have time as I don't have to watch it Freeze or Thaw while I'm sleeping or at work! haha. I'm in no rush, so if it increases extract only slightly thats cool, if it has no discernible effect then that's also fine.
