Not the top part. The stone goes down in the bowl. You can use a other things like a volcano pad, mesh, or even several screens. I found the stone works best is all.

Thanks, I stacked two stainless mesh pads but maybe I had it too close to the heat source double stacking it. I will keep trying and report back.

This might sound nuts but has worked great for swim: in a glass vapor genie, swim uses a couple normal screens like would be used for weed bowl, then swim puts a layer of crushed charcoal on the screen and finally, the freebase dmt over the charcoal. Swim melts the dmt and watches it absorb into the charcoal. Proceed as usual from there. Have had no problems with deemer running down into pipe sense.
