Vaporhuasca: harmalas preparations.

Hi, I have a few questions related to trying vaporhuasca for the first time. Since i'm pretty used to regular ayahuasca and have a particularly good relation with b. caapi, my focus here is to ingest caapi in a tea form.
At the moment I have access to some red B. Caapi resin extract 30:1, I know the weak spot of this method of preparation is that it is difficult to tell how much hamalas there is in the material but maybe someone here has some experience with this form.

So, I'm a little confused by the dosage and preparation of this extracted form.
I'm really not sure of the maths here, because I'm assuming that the vine used for this resin would contain an average 1% harmalas, if I want 200mg harmalas, roughly 700mg of resin paste would be needed, how does that sound?

If my maths are ok, I would dissolve 2.8 g of resin (to consume 1/4 of it and save the remaining 3/4 for future sessions) with hot water (under boiling point) and a few drops of lemon, reduce until I get approx. 20 ml per shot. Can someone confirm this method?

Alternatively I'll try to extract the harmalas from caapi and see how it compares in terms of experience to the rough plant material tea.

any advices from people used to vaporhuasca in general is also welcome :)

Honestly, in terms of 1:30 style extracts I would just extract from it. It's easy and way less of an unknown in terms of effects. Some 1:30 afaik is extracted with ethanol which would be a different extraction efficiency to water. If you had Caapi to begin with and made a tea or boiled it down into resin that's different, I love teas, but these 1:30 are unreliable from what I've heard.

thank you, that's what I feared...
Of course the risk of ingesting a very weak 0.3% harmalas containing material wouldn't be as problematic as ingesting a 3% harmalas containing material
Maybe, at least for the first time I should actually extract harmalas from this resin. And then, I'll know how much it contains and will be able to experiment more safely and efficiently with raw tea.

In this case, I also have access to Harmalas HCl 98%, what would be a safe but effective dose to take sublingually or orally and in both methods how long should I wait before vaporizing the spice?

I have extracted harmalas from similar product, advertised as 30:1 and it was very dissapointing, extremely weak, less than 1% of alkaloids. I also heard from couple of friends that another 30:1 caapi paste did not produce required results. Seems that some crap material is available.
I would prepare tea or extract from caapi vine directly.

Thanks for the advice Doubledog, yes, since i have 5g of this resin, I will try to extract whatever there is in it, and acquire some raw material or try some syrian rue (less expensive).

Harmalas are very effective sublingually, so 20 mg could be your starting dose. Taste of HCl is not great, freebase is better, has almost no taste.
It also work very quickly under tongue, 10 mins should be good.

Still looking for a good harmala source from caapi, and I don't have access to stems at the moment, but leaves are available.
Are caapi leaves worth it for either making tea or extracting harmalas?

Ive never made aya from them alone, you'd need a lot. Ive chewed leaves fresh before for good effect that would assist vapourhuasca well imo. Works of the plant is stressed by drying ime.

Caapi leaf tea is relaxing but generally won't inhibit MAO enough, sublingually they have an effect though. So perhaps you could try extract! If you only have a little bit of leaf though, honestly just try chew the fresh leaf. 3-4 leaves.

Ok, thanks, I guess I'll have to try... at worse, I'll use them for my next changa preparation :)
