vaporizing dmt with a thick metal plate heated in an oven?

sorry if its a stupid question, but why can´t you put a thick metal plate in an oven at lets say 170º, quickly take it out, place it in a wooden table and throw the dmt over it to vaporize it?

It sounds like a decent way of getting a reasonably accurate temperature using only things you might find at home, but I'd want to at least use an oven thermometer to calibrate the oven temperature a bit before trying DMT on it.

Also, don't "throw DMT over it" , carefully weigh out the dose you want, put it in a little paper fold or small spoon, and tip it onto the plate once you're ready with a funnel (or bottle with the bottom cut out) in your mouth to capture the vapours. It'll likely vapourise quickly in one short puff, so you need to be on standby to inhale it.

I guess you need to consider the physical safety aspects too, you don't want to slump unconscious onto a hot metal plate!

using your oven idea ...would be unevenly heated..and harsh!.... and nasty tasting..and much of it would be wasted....

please dont do it that that way...

At the very least....You could use a regular tobaco pipe using mint leaves..and carfully apply butaine flame to it to... vaporize it

This sounds like a hot knife technique I remember for when I was very young to smoke weed. Heat knife on oven flame until red hot then place dmt while pulling in air thru a straw... would would but I'd image wasteful. I don't smoke so IDK.

of course I ment to throwing a previousy measured amount of dmt. I have a very good 0,001g digital scale.
it takes that little to "fly away" not even 10 seconds? thats what I would need from inhaling to sit down

I have a temperature controlled chemistry hotplate, so I did what you should have done 😉 and did the test and threw some dmt on it while it was 170C. Then the room smelled beautiful like dmt, surprisingly it took longer than you would think before all was vaporized/burned. Anyway would be nice if you could just do the experiment and see what happens and report back.

why can´t you
Well, just because you can doesn't mean that you should…

Really, it depends on the size of the metal 'plate' (button?), how you might measure the temperature of this heated element, how you intend to capture the vapours - along with the crucial safety element highlighted in the posts above.

There's a general view that convective heating is superior to conduction in this game. Have a good look through the options presented here:
There's plenty of scope for inspiration, so take a little more time to plan and design something that will do the molecule justice.
