Very Negative Reaction to Rue HCL at Moderate Dose

Oral rue harmalas make me feel really unpleasant as well. I clean them up to a ridiculous level too and it still makes me overly nauseous and gross feeling.

Caapi alkaloids don't do this nearly as much, if at all. I took 250mg of caapi alkaloids and was feeling it very strongly, dizziness and some nausea, but nothing near what I experienced with 125mg of rue alkaloids.

There must be a relatively big difference between the levels of harmine, harmaline, and THH from caapi and rue. That or some people just react negatively to rue in general.
 
the most nauseating, sickening, confusing experience with a lingering afterglow of sickness for days came from caapi. Rue has come close to that day but never quite matched it. I have drunk a lot of both.

There are different stains of rue also, with different alkaloids. It is just not something very well researched or explored by the entheogenic community yet.
 
My most nauseating experience ever was from rue extract. Hours of agony but psychologically I
felt super fine smiling.
I think I have read from several people that as you continue to work with it you
stop being so nauseous, can anyone comment on that?

no there is no threads about rue strains unfortunately. Rue can vary though, from being high harmine content with only trace harmaline to the opposite etc..or maybe eve high harmalol or other alkaloids. I know of someone on another forum who lives in Turkey and works with rue they harvest themselves and claim there is a big difference between it and the stuff available in the markets.
 
Jamie, that totally makes sense to me.
Some of my first experiences with rue was just straight rue, and it was fully psychadellic.
In a way similar to vaped dmt on MAOI, but it was just rue. o_0
Almost every time since, has been quite a different experience.
Simply brightening of colours, mind able to form abstract connection, vocabulary increased, and stimulant like effects.
Trying to do Rue extractions at the moment so that I can finally have semi pure harmine and harmaline crystals, to investigate each seperately.
 
I've also had several negative experiences with various harmala doses. Most recently, I took 200mg of pure harmine, 25mg pure harmaline, and 125mg pure tetrahydroharmine as part of a pharma dose trying to replicate the contents of ayahuasca as reported by the scientific literature. I was hoping the THH would help brighten things up a bit but it was still a really unpleasant experience with a lot of nausea. I wanted to purge but didn't end up puking until after it was over. The harmalas seem to make me feel very ill versus just plain DMT, so much to the point that I'm not trying another oral experience for quite some time.

I also seem to get these really bad headaches after ingesting harmalas that last for up to 18 hours and start ~10 hours after taking the initial dose. I've watched my diet but it still happens (3 times now).
