swim's dog has always done stb teks until a month or 2 ago. now...he'll never do another stb. a/b is the way for him.

question:

been using vinegar but my dog's buddy suggested using hcl. said it would increase yields. up until this point...swim's dog has been getting like 1%-1.5% yields. should swim's dog go out and get hcl? if so...any tips? swim has found acs grade that he could get for his dog no problemo.

swim's dog usually do three separate 2 hour vinegar boils, lets that settle in plastic jugs over night, pours the clean juice off and discards the sludge and then basify the juice in a glass wine jug. should this be ok to do if swim's dog uses hcl?

i did try and look this stuff up on my own bur couldn't find anything. if i've absent mindedly overlooked prior threads about this...sorry. i have tried to find it but failed.

I have tried both and noticed no difference at all. Is your bark powdered? If your bark was not powdered, maybe a strong hcl solution would help breaking down the bark further, more-so than vinegar, but if your bark is powdered there should be no difference (plus in any case even if you have shredded bark I def recommend breaking it down to as fine as possible, blend it, etc, before extracting)

One thing that might explain bigger yields.

HCl is more acidic (if we compare mol/L solutions of both HCL and acetic/white vinegar) ergo it has a lower pH value that MIGHT result in "activation" of other plant material (non DMT) thus contributing to a bigger extraction yield.

end, what kind of concentration did you use and what was the HCl source ? I remember reading something about 69Ron saying that too high concentration (over 10% weight/volume) had low yield for him.
