I'm half of the way through reading the 3rd edition, its got some great advice.
But be warned, the book causes an acute compulsion to buy glassware 😉
When I'm finished it will be fun to skim through edition 5 to see what they changed in the decades after vogels death.

Just dont adopt his fondness for asbestos and benzene, find alternatives
For instance, I made a double layer velcro fastened lagging sleeve out of denim to cover the lower 60% of my short vigreux column. It worked great for recycling wet solvents so I've started making a denim-velcro lagging sleeve to fully cover my long vigreux for more serious fractionations. No asbestos needed.

I've noticed that! I've got GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) for a couple pieces of Boro. Nothing major, just a 1000 ml erlenmeyer with stopper and a 50 ml volumetric pipette. I feel the process of pulling this molecule deserves some legitimate gear. Anyone have a recommend towards an online source of affordable lab glass?
