You can get a cheap digital scale on Ebay or from a number of other online vendors, around $30-50.

It's should go down to .001 accuracy, if you are wanting to measure out single doses.

Which is usually around .030mg-to-.040mg for most people...some need up to .070mg to get the full-on experience.

It's good to know roughly how much it takes for you to get over, that way you are not always loading up twice as much as you can actually use.

On the other hand, .050mg usually looks like a pretty big pile of crystals.  If I was only eyeballing things, I would probably never load that much, thinking it was way more than just .050mg.  Then I would never have enough spice in the pipe to get a full-on dose & reach that overload point of breaking through.

Eyeballing it just plain does not give you any clue to the true weight, because every extract will come out with a different density to the crystals.

I can use the same exact bag of MHRB, do the exact same extraction process, three separate times & I will end up with three different types of crystals every time.

I can take a crystal from each of the three extractions, all the same physical size & they will all weigh differently because the density of the crystals are different.

How tightly bonded together are the DMT molecules making up each crystal?

The tighter/closer the bond, the heavier the crystal...because there are more molecules occupying the same amount of surface area.

Some of this also comes down to purity...How much other crap is in the extracted DMT crystals & how much does that crap weigh?

(If the impurity is an oil (like when extracting from leaf), than it probably weighs quite a lot!)

So two extracts can look almost the same, but if one is denser, it will weigh more than the other.

Remember the final stage in every extraction is to grow the extracted freebased alkaloids into crystals, either by evaporation (lots of impurities), or by freeze precipitation (leaves most impurities behind, in the solvent).

Not only that, but it's also nice to know how much of a yield you actually had!!

And if you are doing a re-crystallization, you can weigh it before & after, to see how much crap was removed.

This can be very surprising!!  (especially if you didn't clean a previous extract & just smoked all that other garbage with it!)
