waking up coughing from smoking DMT

The last few times I've smoked DMT I've woken up in the middle of the night sweating and coughing with the worst headaches I've had in my life. I think the headaches are from coughing probably depriving oxygen to my brain or something. I don't think it's the batch of DMT because it is only me that has been experiencing this, and it only happens when I smoked DMT that day. I haven't been vaping (vaporizer broke) so that could be it too. Anyone else had this happen?

eh.... The smoke from burned spice is pretty fowl. I am not shocked to hear that you are coughing a bit. The spice vapor feels very heavy in the lungs... the smoke is probably worse.

Waking up from a headache could be a big deal though. I suggest not partaking for a while and see if the headaches stop. If they do..... you need a new vaporizer or a better smoking technique. If they don't stop, I would go see your doctor.

Phantom headaches strong enough to pull you from sleep could be a symptom of something else. Plus, you need your sleep...and even if you are sleeping through a headache, its not as restful in my opinion.

You seem confident that your goods are clean..but, an impurity could be effecting you moreso than others partaking of the same substance. A carb wash is pretty easy and beneficial.

I dont know what to say except get yourself a vaporgenie and dont smoke it anymore if you have such bad effects!

You're not alone. It's happened to me the last two times I smoked. Originally I used a vaporizer, worked fine, then the longer I used DMT I found other ways to smoke it. Freebase and Changa is what I've had the most issues with when coughing throughout the night. It's def no fun. The coughing kept me up all night on both occasions and I called in sick to work the next day. Before this I've never called in sick to work in my life. I don't know if it was my smoking tech or if I'm just doing to much in a session. Normally it will be appx 2-3 of us and have appx 3-4 cosmic rides per session night. I took it as my pineal glad was working overtime and like any other muscle in the body, if you work it out for the first time it's sore the next day.

In any case I was going to make a thread on this exact same topic. So I'll post the question to anyone willing to answere. Did anyone have similiar experiences with headaches and coughing and changed their technique so they wouldn't have them anymore? Any advice is appreciated.

Inhaling hot alkaloid vapor is probably one of the worst ways of reaching hyperspace.

Ever snort DMT freebase? Burns like hell. You just know it's wreaking havoc on the inside surfaces of your body.



This post is a bit hypocritical, because smoking DMT freebase is pretty much the only way I consume the stuff. Really trying to stop entirely, and will be working with ayahuasca for awhile now.

Since my last couple of experiences with free base I've just went back to using the vaporizer, works great and no headache afterwards. That's what I'm going to stick with. Even Changa gave me headaches. Vape is the way for me these days.

One should smoke DMT only if he/she cannot afford vaporizer, such as vaporgenie. I wouldn't even think about trying to get the experience with unpleasant smoke.

I've never had this problem. But I never do sessions. I only trip once or twice at a time so I smoke very little over all.
