Washing a Dirty Extraction.

Hi Folks
I need a bit of advice about what is going on with my latest extraction.
First some background.
I've already done three successful extractions with no issues whatsoever and followed the same procedure this time on a fresh batch of MRHB.
This time the naphtha was a very dark red colour after doing the first pull but I precipitated it anyway and got 2.4g of very red/brown something from it. (I forgot to photo it)
I decided to do a sodium carbonate wash on the resulting powder and then re-ex in heptane.
I warmed some de-ionised water and dissolved about 1 gram of SC into it. I then warmed 100ml of Heptane and added that to a different jar containing my powder. I shook the jar and dissolved as much powder as I could. I then put the SC solution in to the jar and shook it all up.
Within seconds the mixture in the jar went very cloudy like something had precipitated out which I wasn't expecting.
I put this mixture into my tube to settle. (Pic 1 below)
After a while three layers formed (Pic 2 Below) so I agitated it a bit to get the middle layer to sink.
In the end I had the heptane sitting on red water with some mystery gunk at the bottom.
I removed the heptane and have put it to precip in the fridge.
I am now left with a jar of red water with this mystery yellow powder at the bottom of it which I have a feeling might actually be DMT. (Pic 3 Below)
My question is, is it DMT, and if it is what is the best way of recovering it?

I've had the dark naphtha. In fact I am dealing with some now. I wash with sodium carbonate and then freeze precipitate. The spice comes out reddish brownish and is good. First time it happened I was very upset, right up until I smoked some. Now I welcome the occasional dark pull.

strange things have happened here

I can't tell you what happened, but from the pic i agree that it might be dmt.

There are probably better ideas than this, but if this were mine right now, i would decant as much of the water as possible, pour the rest through a coffee filter to grab the dmt, then pull from that filter with fresh nps.

Do you smoke the red/brown powder without washing it?
It looked pretty dodgy to me and 2.4g seemed like a huge amount from 100g MRHB so I just guessed that there was something in it that needed removing. Maybe I was wrong.

At the last few pulls from MH, using medical benzine, I get a lot of brown goo, especially when I evaporate the benzine multiple times in the same jar.

Although It doesn’t look like your images, I consider it a similar story.

I always wanted to read a TEKs on how to clean it. I never had time for it. But once I took it as pharma (with extracted rue). It was brilliant.

It was the only time I consider a DMT overdose. I couldn’t put it on a scale, and I thought it had not much DMT in it. (Or I wanted to see what happens if I take too much).

I poured coke on it and drunk it. I ended up in fireworks with open eyes. It was cool and more manageable than my mushroom "overdoses". There was no purge. All I had to do was to convenience myself that if I wanted to move, I could. The same was applied to breathing.

My point is if you end up with brown goo, and you don’t know how to clean it or don’t want to do it, and you are sure it’s not full of NaOH or something bad, just drink it with MAOI. And expect it to be stronger than it seems.

By the way, I have no experience with NAFTA. With medical benzine, I never got a colloid, no matter how long and how hard I shook it. The last time I didn’t wait for enough until the MH powder got mixed with the NaOH solution. It was a super fine powder that formed large blocks in the water that were dry inside. I poured the medical benzine on it and shook it. The benzine got full of the MH powder. It looked like a colloid. I thought I screwed it up. The next day, it was almost crystal clear.

It’s the last few pulls of two batches. Something like this was perfect for pharma.

It’s important though that it was free of even the tiniest drop of the water-based solution. I always remove those no matter what. It all came from the non-polar solution.

You can dissolve it in small amount of acidic water, cool, filter, add base, wait few minutes to let spice separates from water and filter the crystals.

Can you explain what taking it as pharma means please?

@violetquark, it means eating the dmt with or after eating (usually extracted) harmala alkaloids. Pharmahuasca.
