What did I do wrong?

I did an Acacia Confusa root bark extraction, acid base. with 500grams of powdered root bark, i did the acid bath, strained, added naphtha and NaOH then separated and let the naphtha freeze ppt. the crystals. I took the pan out and scraped some white crystal and orange goop. It tasted and smelled like dmt, flowery and plasticky burn smell and taste, but i didn't trip. My friends didnt trip either. we used a bong too, with weed, and ash. what did I do wrong?

Did you get the acid bath to at least pH 5? For how long? Did you do 3 , 45 min cooks sub boiling point? In vinegar? Should only have light to medium heat using vinegar otherwise the vinegar will evap meaning the acetate bond will break leaving dmt freebase that will get pulled in the defat and inadvertently discarded.
Did you basify to at least pH 13?
What naptha did you use?
So yeah more info needed..

well when he listed his method, he didn't mention doing a de-fat, so i doubt it was that.
plus it seemed he yielded some alkaloidal product indicative of tryptamines....

and as long as his naphtha is indeed naphtha, i am sure it works.

he may not have basified enough, but somehow i doubt that.

I both acidified and basified very strongly because I only had a little pH paper, so I tested them once I added a lot of base/acid and it was always blue or red, never green or yellow. Also I added the hot acid bath to the extracting vessel (mason jar) and added the base while it was hot and it steamed a lot (exothermic reaction?) Anyway, could adding the filtered bark with vinegar in it to the base before it cooled down affect anything? Im not even worried about yields I just am not getting any psychoactive effects, just a slight head rush that isn't very fun.

I think the only other explanation is that the bark initially contained no alkaloids, although I specifically extracted from the most potent part of the plant...

I would recommend trying CYB's "MAX ION" tek when extracting acacia.
With some defat steps included.
If that doesn't work maybe one could suspect the alkaloid content of the Acacia.

Acacias have high nmt content. You should scrape the orange goo, defat it, and re-x that. I suspect your alkaloids are there. Other than that though, the white crystals should be dmt and nmt. Maybe you smoked incorrectly or didn't hold it in long enough? No one can really know. Lol

You may have under based, the colour of the litmus paper for the base solution should be deep purple to black but as others have said they could just be mixed in the goo or you may have been unlucky with timing of the harvest.

I just had the same problem not too long ago.
Same procedure but my product was weakly active (minor visuals, head pressure upon exhale, & also a slight decrease in awareness of your body, & dilated pupils) but was also very harsh. Smoke tasted & felt horribly toxic.
I did have a strange texture between my layers though, not bubbly like an emulsion, more like the bottom of the naphtha had some kinda gunk in it.
