... just curious what my fellow Nexians do outside the forum. I'm a freelance translator, how about you?

school...
I have had soo many jobs..from welding to window installation to making waffles before I went back to school..

I started a window and roof cleaning company sort of with my friend in the summer..we had lots of work in the summer and part of fall but not in the last 2 months..I did some roofing since then but not much..looking for something thats more solid for the next little while and pays enough so I get a place right near the water in white rock BC..hopefully anyway.

Then I will have lots of work and always work roofing to fall back on till I finish school. I shape skimboards as well but dont really make much money doing that..gives me some extra money in the summer though if I need it...Im making some boards for a shop for next season though..one day I would like to make a living off that somehow but seems iffy. I just do it cus I love it.

I architect Business Intelligence systems for one of the worlds biggest commodities trading companies.

Contortionist, bondage mistress, translator, a writer, and university professor (lecturer), of course.:?
Have been in the past variously at different times a waitress, a cleaner, a research assistant, a yoga teacher, a dancer, a musician and a stripper.

software architect/developer until i decided to stop working(this system just doesnt do it for me)

I have an engineering (not computer science) degree but have always worked professionally in the software design and development fields (IT).

Do you have a business card?

...about your lecture work of course :)

I'm still unemployed. It's a bit depressing that we've had this same topic up twice now in the past few months and nothing's changed here.

My goal at the moment is to get the first job I can, then learn to drive. Hopefully then I'll have a bit more access to a career in countryside management which is what I really want to do. Also I'm hoping to get some music finished in the next 12 months to take out on the road, but I'm not expecting much payment out of that beyond travel expenses and maybe a meal or two :) That will just be my one off every now and then weekend "job".

Student (1 semester left double major), entrepeneur, budding ethnobotanist/anthropologist and hopefully, upon graduation (as initiative 59 now goes into effect following the removal of the Barr Amendment) *fingers crossed* a licensed medicinal caretaker/grower of cannabis in our Nation's Capital.

My youth gives me a little elasticity, or so I hope :d

Each of my jobs has a web presence and the academic work is official and permanent. The contortion used to pay well when I was younger but these days I just do it for fun and don't ask any payment except for free entry to festivals where I perform.

Hang in there hon. Its a bumpy road if you want to follow your passions in life and not just tow the line. I had years of struggling to get where I wanted to be in life. But it is worth it and will make you all the more unique an individual...and the road can be a lot of fun along the way...

I gave up shallower pursuits that paid fairly well to get involved with things creative and spiritually satisfying. Knock-on effects of my job include saving tons of rainforest, natural resources, and inspiring people to think differently and remember Mother Earth. :)

It was a leap of faith... I have all the money I *NEED.* I fill my body with clean and beautiful food, live in a happy home, and can afford to continue my Ayahuasca practice at the rate I feel called to do so.

It's not necessarily all the money I used to have, but what would I have done, besides spend it on ultimately empty things? (Okay, so, a trip to the Peruvian Amazon or Thailand darkroom retreat would rock... but...) I hope to make enough this year to donate a little bit to the RAN, though.

I spent the last few months doing potentially suicidal things with my career situation, and trusting that the universe would literally provide... I am grateful to be happy, stress-free, and safe. :)

Gratitude creates possibilities...
