Found a mention somewhere that after adding sodium carbonate the solution needs to have pH 10 to precipitate the harmalas.
Once the base layer is removed, what pH is required to re-dissolve the harmalas back into solution?

I think that Loveall found out that with lower pH, some impurity precipitated together with harmalas in alkaline step will dissolve back into solution.
