I done the same when I was younger, just went for it, quite naively but I loved acid and mushrooms was a great surprise. If you have heard from people that whats going around is LSD then id defo buy some and maybe take half or even quarter to test potency, at low doses you wont get many visuals but good chance youll get noticable mental effects. Plus acid doesnt have a bodyload like mushrooms, I wouldnt go with salvia though as its quite different from the rest, mushrooms acid or spice would be ideal, id maybe buy some acid just incase it is acid and you realise you like these things.
