What Went Wrong?

I did an STB extraction process and I didn't yield anything, here is what I did.

I made a solution of pure sodium hydroxide and tap water (The tap water is high-quality, drinkable, soft tap water with no fluoride), I used 15ml of water for every 1 gram of bark and I used 1 gram of sodium hydroxide for every 1 gram of bark so I had a solution of 150ml of water with 100g of sodium hydroxide fully dissolved in it.

I then cut up 100g of shredded MHRB pieces into very small pieces and added them to the sodium hydroxide solution. I stirred and eventually the solution was black.

The solution with MHRB pieces in it was in a stainless steel saucepan and I added 100ml of UK high-quality Ronsonol naphtha to the solution.

I then stirred it all for 15 minutes and then let it sit for 15 minutes. I repeated this pattern three times.

The layers separated quickly and the naphtha layer was colourless while the polar layer was black. I then removed the naphtha layer using a 20ml glass syringe.

I evaporated this naphtha layer and there was nothing in it, no fats, no oils, no DMT or anything else.

Why did my naphtha not pull anything? Please help me, I want freebase DMT.

Can someone help me? Is the description not clear enough? Someone must know what I did wrong because I don't know what I did wrong?

I would have waited longer to let the base mixture dissolve the bark. Overnight, a couple days to be sure. Then I would pull with your non polar solvent. Maybe even instead of 15 minute pulls, do hour long pulls. I am sure if you keep experimenting and pulling on this mixture you will start yielding product.
Add more base if you need to along the way if the layers don't separate quickly.

STB usually requires you to let your bark mixture basify for hours or days, afaik... Try 'vaping all the naptha out of your stuff, add more base and let it chill overnight, moving it around now and then. Naptha doesn't stop the reaction from happening once you put it in, so you should be fine.

It's the acid step that lets you do a quick base step. If you skip that, you'll have to let your stuff basify for quite a while. Maybe try an A/B next time?

Edit: do the Naptha pulls in a warm slow-cooker too... Warm naptha dissolves MUCH more than room-temp. Just get it a little above body temp, not so hot it starts vaporizing.

Simply rolling the jug around in a warm bath works great, too.

Just want to add that you didn't powder your bark and i have noticed with STB's that this is quite essential. If you do an a/b, it's not as essential. If you see with my extraction with acacia confusa I used chips and had some ok results. Get a decent blender and blend the bejeezus out of it. Hope that helps ya, buddy

It's not exactly essential to have powdered material for STB. Like I said, it just takes a bit of time for the basic solution to dissolve the bark. I have even STB pretty large pieces of bark and even they get dissolved by the base. It just takes time.

That makes sense, ۩. The bark will eventually break down enough to allow for the dmt to be pulled, but could take up to a week to do so. Patience is a virtue when it comes to extractions and i guess i find powdering it first eliminates the time factor. My bad saying it was essential.
