I'm chasing a little wisdom regarding the removal of the seed caps that sometime get stuck to the shoots as they come up.
They are acuminata small seed var, so it's a little too fine for my apeish hands. I already beheaded one

A little spit sometimes softens them up. That and keeping up the humidity so they will work their way off. Most of those things resolve themselves before they become problematic.

I put a drop of water on each seed cap and let it soak for a couple of hours, slid right off!

They only stick to cotyledons, so it doesn't really matter.

More importantly, your seedlings need a lot more light.

They are getting about 12hrs indirect Sunlight, I have a 100w CFL I can set up too

Is outside an option for you? In my experience, acacias prefer getting acclimated into full sun asap.

Yeah outside is definitely an option
I thought I'd keep them in the sunroom until the stems are strong enough to handle the southern ocean/Antarctic weather systems we typically get here, being a desert species

They can't handle too cold (wouldn't risk under mid to upper 40s with babies) but I wouldn't worry about moisture or wind. Lots of people grow acacias in really (really) humid climates and they do fine.

We rarely get sub 40f here, but id say a consistent ave of 60f from April to September is a shoe in.

No problem. Just make sure you acclimate them to full sun over a couple weeks. Even if the final destination is preferable for a plant, they need a little time to adjust.

Looking awesome!! I saw a thread elsewhere about full sun burned acuminata seedlings and was hoping it wasn't yours.

Nope not mine, although 2 of them did come up to have a little peek at the world and said "f*** this, I'm out"
Of the 30 planted, 13 are sprouted and healthy and the other 15 have yet (if ever) to show themselves.
They each have their own unique character and personality I feel honoured to care for them. Hopefully that difference in character will one day transfer to the DMT experience.
Long term solution is solved
It's nice to be at the whim of a plant by way of timing, I'm not ready to smoalk until they are ready to be smoalked.

I had this same problem with a few of my morning glories, The seed shell does not want to come off, And i'm not going to force it either. I can see it slowly breaking away.
