where to store your spice?

Are there any disadvantages to storing spice in the freezer? As SWIM lives in Aust where temps often get above 40c and was considering it just in case, that topped with high humidity melted spice?

I store my spice in empty 500mg gel capsules, in cigarette cellophane in a cigarette pack. It has never melted on me in any weather. The higher the humidity, the more it seems to stick together, think snow. The gel capsules also make dosing easy because you can make tick marks on the sides :d
