Who's the best band in the world, circa 2012?

Migrated topic.
Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but can there even be any doubt? 20 years in and these fellas just continue to evolve and improve.

Radiohead fo'eva.

I dig me some Muse as well.

Insane Clown Posse. scoff if you must. Yes they have two guitarists and a dj when they perform. No group has been more succesful with the amount of hatred they have recieved. And not to mention they have had there own festival for the last 13 years with some of the biggest names in music comedy and entertainment industry. Saw George Clinton there last year and he was amazing.

i have to say, as far as popular music beat combos go, these guys do the business and always have done , never boring and , if for any reason, are formulaic, that particular formula is very good!!!!!!:)

this band whup big butt too , total prim-evil, jam-fest energy! Or an IV shot of dirt infused adrenalin!

I don't know if it's childhood nostalgia but Kyle from South Park said it best "disintegration is the best album ever!".

Their work varied a bit too much into the quirky zone for my tastes at times, but I'm sure many folk would agree with me that these guys are pretty special, especially when viewed live on a good day:

The Cure

Driving, haunting, surreal, sexy as fuck!!!

and if you liked that you will love (or hate this)

can"t work out how to embedd!!!!

I think nine inch nails would definately qualify as well. But 'the best'..depends on what mood you´re in or what you´d want from a group of musicians. Music you can dance to, or just music to relax and chill with?

Something about a baby's skull?

No!

That was definintely meant to be 'I have a soft spot for NIN'

The fragile especially was rather special.

I agree radiohead are great used to be really obsessed with them, but man seen thom yorke doing a dj set the other day it was an absolute joke, felt embarassed for him terrible, good tunes but man you would think he would have practiced at least, go back to making music mr yorke!!

Oh and I already told everyone sonic youth are the greatest band ever, its a scientific fact 😁

For me it will currently be Pink Floyd, though that can change easily as I find new gems. Still, I think they will always be in my top list.

I love this 1:31 long, high quality video: Live at Pompeii - Directors Cut - Full Length! - 720p HD:

(Choosing a higher quality for the video will also make the sound quality better!)

Yes , i am quite a fan of the "loose mix",but hes just banging them over not really seamless!! perhaps just letting the music do the talking, but its not that hard to beatmatch.
As far as electronic music goes at the mo, i love these guys and they work with thom yorke a fair bit

i cant diss sonic youth......ever!

Yes its not hard to beatmatch at all and its not that im this nerdy dj guy you get who complains at the slightest mistake, that set of his was just ridiculous though, hes just a human record player there wasnt one decent mix, even if beats arent matched you can still have good mixes, the first ten minutes hes just cutting to a completely different song, plays for three minutes then cuts, whats the point, get an ipod lol someone on youtube said hes trolling the club, maybe he is I mean hes super talented and he delivers that I just dont understand it, I was shocked when I seen it a few weeks ago :?

Pink floyd could definately qualify for this title. As well as many other brittish symfo-bands from that era. One of those other bands that realy stands out in my opinion, is YES. But alongside many briliant stuff they´ve made they also have produced so much crap that YES could easily qualify for both the title 'best band in the world' as 'worst band ever in the history of mankind'.

I think that this piece has at least the best intro ever.
