Guys,
I do say this with respect for all, I know everybody relates to the plants differently, but here is what I have come to believe after many years working with them and having worked with other medicines such as Kambo, which is very much about the benefits of purging.
our western idea that purging is a "BAD' thing to be avoided doesn't make sense to me on a basic level .. if something needs to go, LET it GO !! A cat or dog, if they eat something bad for them, they go munch out on the grass and other plant material until they purge it all up.
Why are humans conditioned against this NATURAL process?
(most) who take these substances are seeking healing on some level, and they are making the agreement with the plant that whatever is most appropriate for them at the time, should happen. This is not always "easy", nor comfortable, but feeling sick for a few hours, then feeling life is better after it's over is a big lesson for our life. If we cannot learn to be uncomfortable, for relatively short periods of time, then how can we progress in this world?
How can we press forward through feelings that we are not good enough, and ask the pretty girl out on a date if we cant learn to sit with butterflies in our stomach? , how could we ask for a raise, or seek a better job, if we cant make it through the anxiety of asking or showing up for the interview?
So yes, sometimes the process involves nausea and feeling we are dying, and even then, the best thing I have found is to relax and to allow the " death"... I used to really stuggle with a huge Fear of dying it was always much more intense than just relaxing into the vision and experincing a sinking into the earth , with bugs and leaves all around , then realising this was mother earth trying to give me a hug
ANYTHING which interferes with the plant's ability to work in your body is only going to reduce the experience, in fact diluting the medicine, or fighting the purge tends to lead to extended suffering , as nausea will only continue , and if you never purge out the source then your body will take longer to process it in outer ways, extending your discomfort .
One aspect of aya experience is the healing of the body, and sometimes that requires a bit of digging up old toxins ( both physical and energetically) and that comes with Nausea some/most times.
To me , this is part of the process .. How best to really bring home the importance of good diet and putting good things into the body, than to have a few hours of discomfort relating to the effect they have . Also, the naseua helps to bring on the sweating, and vomiting, purging ... which is the way the medcine want to work in your body to remove things .
Ginger tea , drinking water during the cerimony , taking pharma drugs to repress the urge to purge is going aginst part of the reason that I do the Medicne .
Having siad that I will repeat this is NOT saying its wrong to do such things , just saying my experince things have ALWYS rung betterr when I step out of the way and trust the medicine to do what it is trying to do in my body
