This is exactly what you would do if you wanted to defat your MHRB (NPS washes prior to basification). However, MHRB doesn't contain significant fats so there is no need to add this step.
After you do you should evaporate your solvent and let us know if it picked anything up.
The first MHRB teks from around 2000 (like QT's) actually included a defat step. Over the years as more people starting experimenting and coming up with newer and simpler ways to extract the step was dropped from virtually all teks because it didn't have any effect and was considered a waste of solvent.
I'd definitely be interested to see what your defat pulls (if anything).
that is a waste in my opinion. with proper technique you can easily separate the fats from your crystals without having to waste a shitload of naptha... or you could at least re-distill it and re-use it..
You could use the same naptha to defat forever so I don't really think it would be a waste at all, besides your initial amount of nps which should be 500ml MAX. And you could reuse that same dirty naptha to defat forever, I would think.
